He will need 61 votes to begin with, so if he is confirmed you are right it really wouldnt be close.

I don't think even the most ardent Bernanke opponent would filibuster his nomination. So, I'm not sure 60 votes are critical to getting a vote.

With few exceptions, a vote against his confirmation is just political posturing. I would like to hear who the "no" voters want to replace him right now.
Hypothetically, how do you think the markets would react to a vote to replace Bernanke by the Senate.

I think it would depend on who the replacement was, but yeah, it would be ugly.
