Boards like this 1 are causing LSU to lose Commitments

If boards like these can cause a kid to change his commitment from one school to another, I would have to question his dedication to begin with. If he could waver that easily...what would he do in the mental game later in a tough season?

If it was because of negative talk, no one would have committed to Tenn. If a recruit reads and believes anything on this board then I would question his or anyone else's intelligent. If you base your decision on this board or any board, please sign with some other school.

Whether or not you want to believe it. Message boards could play a big role in swaying a commit. It's another form of media that these guys can read, and see how the fans are reacting to the program... How many times have you heard players say they wanted to play for LSU because of the fans? It's a two way street.

Have to disagree with Dandy on this. He gives way too much credibility to boards. These kids can see for themselves what happens at games.
There are always decommits so no surprise. But to think that these kids, their parents and coaches aren't influenced by what they see on Saturday nights is not realistic.
They follow the past with Saban and his success at Bama, what he did here, realistic or not and the decline of the Tigers since Miles too over.
I know a NC is not a decline but come on it's what you do today that leaves an impression on some of these kids.
I'm sure all Tiger nation wants Miles and staff to succeed. Next year should tell everyone what direction we're headed in.

I disagree with DD. These boards have no bearing on recruits or coaches. "This board" reflects the fans opinions which are pretty consistent with other schools fan bases and their opinions as well.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that a negative-recruiting coach of a rival school would use some of the venom that's spouted on these sites against LSU.
How hard is it to get a couple nice glossy prints of some of the worse posts and say something like - "see, even their own fans realize how disfunctional the situation is over there. You don't want to go to a place lilke that".
Probably got a list of the "best" quotes in their briefcase to bring out right afer their clips of he end of he ole miss game.

I disagree with you. If a recruit is from out of state, and a soft verbal, other recruiters will use ANY NEGATIVE information to show them why to not honor their commitments. It all plays a part. How much depends on the individual, but it has to be faced. Vent, rant, bitch and cuss if you want, but be aware that it has consequences.

i think LSU "fans" on the whole are an annoying bunch of negative chicken littles and it definitely adds to the perception that LSU isnt one of the top tier programs and we know how perception IS reality, right....
