When did this thing get so damn expensive? I'm looking to take my 13 yr old cousin and they want $35 for him to go run around the green. I understand that's cheap for golf but I just remember it being like $10 for students and $15 for staff back in the day.

Try the City Park golf course. It's only $10.

Is the LSU Golf Course worth paying the money for? He requested it and I said sure thinking it was dirt cheap. Said it was one the best in BR (okay? )

Go at twilight. I still think it's at 2pm for now. When we start having longer daylight they switch it back to 4.

Damn! I'm old. We use to play for $5.00 if you had a student ID. They also had just opened a driving range along Nichols . . . good place to practice if you were ever going to play a cow pasture. Have fun!

That's a deal. You can't get on a GC in Atlanta for under $75 unless it's a goat field.

Maybe they made it expensive so this wouldn't happen as much.

Well, damn, I am OLDER! When I was a student (88-92ish), student green fees were $2.50. I would go right at twilight and pay $1.25 and still get in a whole round.

That wouldn't be setting a good example for my impressionable cousin...I don't mind paying...I just want to pay $10 or $15

LSU used to be a great course for the money, but they have started charging so much recently that I would much rather pay a few extra bucks and play Santa Maria.

They don't have a junior rate, it sucks.

I played there like 2 months ago and paid $12, I will never pay $35 for that course.

I don't know jack shite about Golf. He told me it was one of the best in BR, albeit he's 13. If the course is shitty, I'll bring him somewhere nicer for the money. I might be able to get him in at $25 but doubtful.

That's what I call golfing...hitting a ball and driving/running around a manicured pasture.

I think it was $2 with a student ID when I was in school. The only afternoon classes I had were EE labs and my roommate was my lab partner. So we used to carry our clubs to class, finish up our lab assignment asap and play golf until dark.
