So you choose to focus on Carroll over Saban because?

The question is about having a deceiving, lying coach over a 2nd rate coach. It didn't limit or ask you to choose Carroll or Saban.

Can't believe I have to explain the question to you.

I have seen the won-loss results of a "2nd rate HC" and this, 51-15, isn't it.

"This is the best offensive line I've ever seen"

"Russell Shepard cannot throw" (looked like he could throw in the AA Game and televised HS game)

"KW fumbles too much" (never lost a fumble in his entire career, Hester and Scott did)

"There was a real want to get 10 on the field and get the ball in his hands"

"There is a real want to correct the delay of game problem that has haunted LSU's offensive scheme since the day I got here" (okay, so that isn't a quote but why exactly hasn't this been remedied yet?)

Without touching the Saban thing, I do think the Carroll question is interesting. Let’s assume the worst and say USC gets absolutely hammered. Banned from TV and significant schollie reductions. We don’t know that, but for the sake of the hypo, go with it.

Now, the NCAA can’t take away your memory of what happened. So, is it worth it to be a dominant team with MNC’s and 6 or 7 straight conference titles BUT at the end of the decade, you go on probation and start losing. Is it worth it?

I wouldn't want either one because both are have deceptive approaches. No loyalty.

The issue is that once you get caught doing it - how lenient is the NCAA the second time around?

If it were a probation for say 4 years and horrific losses during that period and then you hire another petey and are back in the driver's seta within two years - what is the amount of zoom in the NCAA Magnifying Glasses looking for issues in your backyard?

I want a guy who can win. Since Saban was here already, I don't want him back. Give me Carroll though. If he wins championships and leaves after 3 or so season, so be it. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

Larry Coker was 60-15 (through 5 seasons, 53-9). He's 2nd rate.

Miami didn't replace him with a high enough quality coach, but they did the right thing by casting him out before it was too late.

Not even close. LSU was a stepping stone for Saban from day one. Practically every year he played a song and dance about going to the NFL. He was NEVER going to stay at LSU long. He was just waiting for the right NFL offer. He got that offer and the big bous in the NFL handed jhim his arse. Then he lied about going to Alabama.
Believe what you want but the facts are there. If you look.

even if he does, WHO GIVES A frick???????
he won them a Nat'l Champ and has created a foundation for long term success
LSU fans that hate Saban are just idiots
as would be Bama fans if he left there for the NFL

Coker was released more cause his teams actions on and off the field were seen as an embarrassment to the school and the state more than cause of his record.

I don't think we have seen anything like that with LSU and Miles.

BTW, his record of W's and L's is 1st rate in my book, but each to our own.

"as would be Bama fans if he left there for the NFL"

Are you really out of touch? Francione kept the Alabama program together through the sanctions, found a way to get them to Hawaii "bowl" trips when on probation, improved recruiting and cleaned up the public perception of the program after Dubose Then he jumped to aTm. Ask any Bama fan what they think of him. Most of them would tar and feather him if he showed up in Alabama.
Your hatred of Miles is blinding you.
