1. Not being a hands on coach.
2. Be like a man and admit he is soft.
3. Develop his talent. As in Coach them up.
4. Set tougher rules for his players.
5. Not hiring a QB coach.

Not having an experienced starting QB on the team for the last two years is his biggest mistake and is the biggest factor in the W-L records. I understand the circumstances that created this, but he is still the head coach and is responsible for it.

1. Ole Miss game.
2. Co DCs
3. Not firing Crowton
4. 3 points (AU in 06 and FL in 09)
5. The state of our d and o lines.

1 - Taking the LSU job.
2 - Not getting a speech coach.
3 - Not knowing how to read clocks near the end of games.
4 - Not getting a grammar coach.
5 - Toss-up between the co-defensive coordinators and the Gary Crowton thing.

Out of all, and there are many I would put at the top the CoDC experiment and the lack of any desire to make adjustments to that failed experiment during the season

Second, recruiting possibly the most exciting athlete to ever come play football at LSu and totally misusing him in a season he was desperately needed. Inexcusable.

Poor clock management
Inability to motivate team to get into crisis mode

Lacking the ability to coach the level of intensity needed to win consistently in the SEC

Clock management

Letting his OC have too much control of the play calling without fear of the repercussions of stupidity

Trying too hard with the "coach speak"

And number one again.

Agreed.

#3 - is that he fails to create a sense of identity (like Brady in hoops).

Les Miles biggest mistake was not addressing the issues of the team through the media. When things went wrong, he should have stepped up and took the blame for them and said he was going to fix it. The media is a monster and what has killed Miles is not necessarily his record, but the perception LSU fans now have of him. He needs a lesson in PR and I think the fan base would see him in a whole lot more positive light.

1. Poor speech and communications skills to the fans and the media, thereby losing all credibility.
2. Time management skills
3. Misuse (and non-use) of key personnel
4. Handling under performing coaches and players with kid gloves, allowing them to continue making the same mistakes over and over.
5. Lack of fire and intensity which translated to his teams appearing soft in the back end of games.

GREAT LIST

Although, I'd probably reorder it like this:

1.) CoDC's
2.) Auburn 06 game plan **might've cost us a shot at the NC. Think about it. We beat AU, and we're in Atlanta playing Florida for the right to face OSU.
3.) Ole Miss
4.) Keeping Crowton
5.) QB recruiting from 05-07

5 WORDS instead of mistakes...

Not playing the best talent!

Other than that, they did the best with what was on the field. They had oppertunities ag. Ole Miss and Bama and blew it.

I read some of these last night and didn't go over the rest this AM. Forgive me if I my opinion is the same as a previous posters?

1. Wasted Time outs or Time management (Offensive confusion), too much Ugh, ugh!
2. Doesn’t defend his players during game against the Refs. (not an assertive game day coach)
3. Mis-use of talent (players not playing that should be)
4. Keeping the equivalent of an O.C. in Crowton too a recent Lou Tepper os D.C. during DiNardo era.
5. Came to LSU without letting them know he had brain surgery before he left OSU Cowpokes.
All of these will kill team moral if it continues (evidence in current team attitude)
