I've been addicted to potato soup lately and LOVE the one at Coffee Call....please pitch in your best potato soup recipe so I can try them out.

Google "Hard Rock Baked Potato Soup."
Simply the best out there.

Never had it at Coffee Call. Is it chunky and does it have ham in it?
I don't care for chunky and I don't use ham. I make a pureed version and add crumbled bacon, cheese, green onions and sour cream just before serving.

No ham and slightly chunky (I kind of like the chunks). They have one with green beans and potatoes too that is good, but probably not as good as the regular potato soup.

Hard Rock and LaMadeline's are the best I have had.
Outback serves a pretty good one as well, but not thick enough for my liking.

Tony Roma's Baked Potato Soup
Bake 3 potatoes, cool, discard skin and cut into cubes
Saute 1 chopped onion in in 3 tbsp melted butter until brown. Add 2 tbsp flour stir to make a roux. Add 4 cups chicken broth, 2 cups water, 1/4 cup cornstarch, 1 1/2 cups instant mashed potatoes, 1 tsp salt, 3/4 tsp pepper, 1/2 tsp basil, 1/8 tsp thyme. Bring to a boil reduce and simmer 5 minutes.
Add baked potato cubes and 1 cup half and half to mixture. Bring to a boil then simmer for 15 minutes.
To serve top with shredded cheddar cheese, chopped green onion and crumbled bacon.
Very easy to make and delicious

Try adding small amount of smoked gouda. Or on top shredded asiago.
I like to add brie to it and make a potato and brie. Can add cauliflower to it as well.
Just different options. The above recipe is pretty good and similar to what I have used.
One more thing. I like a lot of black pepper. I think it lends itself well to this soup.

I made a roasted cauliflower soup some months ago and it was quite good. Wish I'd written it down as I just sort of looked a few recipes and went my own way. No potatoes in it, as I recall. Strictly the cauliflower.

i'm not even hungry but that post made me hungry.
I saw a recipe for asparagus too...that sounded great, but didn't see where they actually listed asparagus?
What about artichokes? Too much?
