The money that is spent on these schools should be spent on LSU in Baton Rouge. We don't need these schools wasting money that could be spent on the football team, the band, a bigger Tiger Stadium. The medical school in Shreveport is fine, but Shreveport doesn't need LSUS with Tech and NSU so close.

Yes, we have too many 4 year universities.

Probably have other spending priorities though.

Let me get this straight. You want to close 3 colleges in order to put more money into an athletic program!?!

I would say that we have too many colleges and universities in this state. There is only so much money. and not enough college students for the number of schools. But yes about 3/4 of the colleges in this state need to close.

Is there anyway that Louisiana can drop any lower that 50th in regards to education? Lets shut down all of colleges and universities in the state. We don't have a need for additional teachers, lawyers, drs, engineers, etc to help move Louisiana into the 21st century and keep our brightest minds in state. Lets continue the brain drain from the state, but maintain a great football program.

We should combine Tech and ULM (Northeast). Do we actually need a school in Lake Charles, one in Lafayette and one in Hammond? No. Close one of them as well.

Tiger1955 if you were born in 1955 that would make you about 54 years old. I would expect this garbage from someone in their teens but not someone with that much maturity. I guess it just goes to show there is no correlation between age and maturity.

one of the more idiotic posts i've seen. get rid of three colleges that give young adults much needed education and spend the money on athletics at a University that already has and spends millions of dollars on it.

I didn't say spend on athletics and I assume you didn't direct toward me, but there are too many 4 year state colleges in the university for the number of people that reside there. With budgets being strained, closing a couple would actually save money for the state.

Obviously you iudiots don't understand a fricking thing. Universities are being cut to the poinr that there is no sense in having these schools. You could take the money that you are wasting sdpending on as half arse schooland plow some opf it back into LSU. God you people are so stupid and annoying. Total fricking retards.

You got off to a good start about closing some colleges, but the money should be spent on properly funding the academic side of LSU. The fans pay for the athletics.

I would have to actually see some numbers to support this. But even if they did, that is still only looking very, very short-term. In no way is closing universities in the long-term interest of this or any state.
