One real big thing that I've noticed since Saban left is that instead of dishing out the beatings we've been taking them. Remember Saban talking about win or lose he wanted the opposing team to feel like they've just taken the beating of their life? Look at the Bama game this year for a huge example of this, we had players limping off the field left and right...while I can't recall many of our players dishing out that sort of punishment.

One hit here and there, big friggin whoop.....how many teams in the last two years did we just physically dominate to the point where they had guys dropping like flies? We couldn't do that to the Louisiana Techs/ULL's on our schedule, much less any of the SEC teams.

revisionist history. either that or your toughness theory doesnt translate into wins.

8-4
10-3
8-5
13-1
9-3

i guess the opposition had a decent supply of flies since they were constantly dropping.

Look Saban was a helluva coach when he was here, but he was NOT what many of you seem to remember.

If these numbers were acceptable then (they werent by the way. LSU "fans" were screaming for his head) then there shouldnt be a problem now.

Les Miles: Soft on discipline?

New Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy has dismissed nine players for team rules violations since taking over in January, but Gundy admits he's 'pretty soft'.

Research some of things OSU fans were saying in 2004 and earlier about our coach.

You will see some of the same issues being discussed. As a former A&M player/Big 12 fan friend of mine told me in 2005 when LM was named LSU head coach "you guys are going to look like OSU once Saban's players are gone".

"Undisciplined, not developing talent, and inexplicable collapses and terrible clock management in close games".

hmm. Those who ignore the lessons of history are doomed to repeat them.

Both lines are weak. Get pushed around, particularly at the end of the season. Its a definite pattern.

we have a lack of real beef on the lines on both sides of the ball. I would like to see the o-line average about 330 lbs./man instead of 295 lbs or whatever it is now. We are just to small to deliver physical type football

IMO.... Its not only how tough you are its what is the coach doing to improve our team or his he just hoping that we will be better next year.If we were in a war we couldnt afford to lose the big battles and if a general did do this he would be replaced and the letter of repremand would read something like this
failure to have your troops ready for the battle or not using the troops you had to their best ability therefore we find you in derilect of your duties

Actually it happened after Pelini left. Bo kept the physicality of the defense in tact after Saban left. It's gone to shite since then

Not just the physicality, but the intensity. Bo wasn't afraid to get in someone's business if they were dicking around. I think Bo can be arse at times, and you need someone on staff like that especially if the head man isn't.

Once upon a time your season was ruined after playing LSU. Not only did you lose on the scoreboard but your team was too banged up to perform well for the next week or two, leading to yet another loss. That was fun!
