:sigh:

You would think that people would just use common sense and look at the numbers. I'm not just talking about Miles here either. Alleva should have encouraged if not facilitated the hiring of a new OC.

I honestly don't know what to think or expect this year, but I was highly optimistic about our prospects for 2010 if we could have gotten a great OC. I really hate the idea of experiencing another season like 08 and 09.

Well...

IF the O-line improves and IF JJ flips the switch, LSU will be a 10 win team next year, easily. Coach Stud is still on staff and Crowton still can't coach QB's, so yeah... we're fricked next year.

Best case scenario: Crowton is 'summoned' to a Mormon trip in the offseason and Billy G takes over the reigns.

After next year, 14M is still too expensive for LSU

it should be around that, his buy out for this year was supported to be $18.5M, 18.5-4= $14M

I think a coaching change after next year would be very devestating to the program. If he brings in the 2011 class that is expected then it will set up LSU for several future seasons.

If LSU falls apart next year, who is to say these players will still come to LSU en masse? That great class could be pissed away.

Miles will continue to play older players over the talented ones. See this year. Why was Shep put in to average 6 or 7 yards per play, and then mysteriously vanish?

Talent has not been our problem under Miles...he doesn't know how the hell to use that talent. A few more seasons of his brain farts costing us wins and benching our best players is going to hurt us in recruiting.

I don't even want to imagine how this coaching staff would do with less talent.

Hmmmm..

I don't recall Miles coming out and addressing rumors in the past, so maybe he really is staying.

That's too bad..

I wish Crowton the best..Maybe he can become the wizard again?....for his career's sake and Miles future...he better find that magic this year.

LSU needs to move 100 spots! Wow!

Alleva was being interviewed during the bowl game and was basically calling plays which he thought should be ran on a pitiful field like we had. I thought for sure that this was a bad sign for Crowton.

I want Crowton to go, but let's be honest. He hasn't forgotten how to coach. Les and his backs are against the wall, and they know that they have to change big time and develop an explosive offense to survive. For any of you in management, this is the type of challenge that comes up a lot. This could very well bring the fire back in Les that has been missing the last two years.

Why does your back have to be against the wall to do a half-arse coaching job?He hasn't forgotten how to draw up plays, but he has forgotten how to coach. They don't need to "develop an explosive" offense. They first need to put their best players on the field(that means linemen too). They then need to look at their players and run plays that those players run well.

Look, Les obviously feels he can solve the problem with whatever he has done to make changes. We don't see it, but we don't know everything that goes on behind closed doors. I am sure major changes will have been made. I am also sure that if the same result ensues, there will be a coaching change in the next year. I just hope we don't keep cycling through OC's and DC's in the next 10 years going to the Capitol One Bowl on a regular basis.
