Isn't it ironic that Miles and Richt were the two hottest coaches in the country after the 2007 season, and both are now a disappointing season away from being unemployed? Life in the SEC. If we lose the first game to UNC next year, it will get extremely ugly in Tiger Stadium during the season.

"Alleva should have encouraged if not facilitated the hiring of a new OC"
Alleva is not Hungry nor does he have the passion for LSU as many of its locals have. He is from Duke. As long as we are in a bowl and have a winning record, reguardless how much we under achieve, he will be happy.

I am begining to think this. The fact that he couldn't fork out enough money for a one million dollar buyout (chump change when dealing with LSU football) to fire Crowton is beyond discouraging.
Bertman would have some heads rolling after the Ole Miss game. Alleva doesn't seem to comprehend with the whole "Good of the program" idea. SEC football is an arms race, and you gotta spend money like Congress to get anywhere. (This does not apply to Congres. I don't support huge Congressional spending. I od support spending money to get rid of undesirable offensive coordinators).

If he brings in the 2011 class that is expected then it will set up LSU for several future seasons.
Now this does excite me. We are counting on high school juniors to come in and continue Miles 8-9 wins per season. Maybe we can go to a Cotton Bowl at Jerry's new stadium. That would be exciting.

Hopefully we put him out on his arse if he allows leslie to run the football program into the ground......I really hope and pray people come to their senses and not give these bastards a dime over the minimum donation until they get serious about righting this ship.

I am singularly unimpressed with him and with Lombardi. I wish they would both hit the bricks.
ETA: talking with a friend who spent time with some of the key offensive players over the holidays. Let's just say that their opinion of Crouton matches the majority of the posters on TD.

NOT. Miles and crowton had been knowing all season the offense sucked, and that playmakers were being neglected. Every week we were given the bs of what was needed to get better, and we only got more of the same.
It's over for Miles period. The sooner we accept this the better.

Now I'm convinced, Miles is a fricking Moron.

I don't know when it's gonna be over for Miles, and frankly, I don't care. What I'm concerned about is the next season, and our offense is what needs to be fixed for us to have a good 2010. Retaining Crowton is not a good way to start.

this is when bad goes to worse. Anyone heard what the players think of Frank Wilson, Gonzales, or Stud?

This news really makes my damn head have the want to explode. I have supported this idiot up until this year. His poor grasp of the english language coupled with his lack of coaching ability is truly too much for me to handle. I've stepped over the line and am now quite simply disgusted at the thought of this fricking idiot representing LSU. It's embarrassing.
frick! I'm going outside to kick the damn dog. Maybe it'll make me feel better.

Seriously, if I fricked up with the regularity of these two idiots my arse would be in the unemployment line two times quick. Making the kind of money these arse hats make you shouldn't be allowed this many brain farts. You should be functioning at a higher level. frick! I hate these frickers!

Guess kicking the dog didn't do it?
I totally agree, fwiw. Performance appraisals of the entire staff should take place and several of them put on a performance improvement plan.

I thought he was gone for sure after the Ole Miss debacle. The travesty that was our offense vs Penn State only made me more confident he was gone. I'm not sure what happened, but there is no way Miles kept Crowton on his own accord. The AD must have refused to fork out the money, because even Miles wouldn't keep this guy.

Here's another side to look at: maybe Alleva knows what he's doing? I bet he had a sit down with Les and Les talked him into keeping Crowton. Alleva is going to give him a year to bring us to at least the SECCG and if he doesn't, he's going to let both of them go.
