I'd rather have pelini as HC over Miles
At least he is a Defensive mind coach

LSU lost 9 games in two years since Pelini's departure.
Nebraska finished this year No. 14, ahead of LSU at 17.

Pelini is getting a lot more mileage out of his personnel than Miles. That's for sure.

Or maybe they play in the Big XII North where you can go 9-3 with the 99th ranked offense and still win your division.

Nebraska's offense was ranked 99th in a conference not exactly known for defense. His defense is badass but how much of that is Suh and how much of it is Pelini?

Not saying Miles > Pelini but I think it's still too early to tell.

Pelini is 11-5 in the months of October and November the last two seasons.
Miles is 8-8 in the months of October and November the last to seasons for Lester.

Pelini's teams get better as the seasons progress and Miles' regress.

What I loved about Pelini:

In the '07 Tulane game, as we were playing horribly and committing penalties like sins, Carnell Stewart had just come off to the sidelines after committing another one. Who got up in his face? The man on the other side of the ball did. That's when I knew Pelini was more vital to our team than we ever gave him credit for. After Arizona State, people were ready to crucify him. I'm glad we had him the 3 years we did.

The 2007 LSU football season had more to do with Pelini than Miles, IMHO.

I think the 38.64 points per game helped some as well.

I think they're ranked so high because of Suh...

Pelini inherited a program in shambles.Miles inherited Saban`s work of art.Look what each has done with their respective programs.I`ll take Bo.

in most cases your only as good as the people you have under you...head coach= assitant coaches ,unless you are a great coach yourself= saban...so i would say miles had better get moving and find someone tha can save him from himself

Pelini no question.
My only complaint about Pelini was that his last year here, did it seem to anyone else that he didn't make very many halftime adjustments?

It was mentioned on ESPN that Nebraska was in the bottom 5% of all teams in virtually every defensive category when Pelini took over. A couple years later, they are now in the top 5% of those same statistics.

This is a CLEAR example of the impact solid coaching has on a team. I'm sure similar paralells can be made with Saban and Alabama. Elite coaches bring out the best in all the players (even if they are not 4 and 5 star guys).

In our case, I think Miles brings down the overall effectiveness of our athletes. How else can you explain the mistakes, mental errors, dicipline issues, etc. the LSU progam has encountered since Miles took over? Our 5 star guys end up being 2 and 3 star players with the lack of development under Coach Miles. Proof is in the puddin'.

What Pelini did at UN is no better than what Miles did at LSU this year. Just played in a crap division. What LSU misses since Pelini has been gone is the intensity (and successful blitz packages)
