Mack Brown and his integrity by not playing Colt McCoy

I keep hearing about how awesome it was that Mack Brown is for not risking injuring Colt by putting him back in. Don't get me wrong, he's a stand up guy and would do anything for his players, but he couldn't have put McCoy in even if he wanted to do it. McCoy said he couldn't even feel his arm? How the hell was he gonna throw?

Didn't need to throw on the 2 short field drives...........Not feeling your arm does not mean you can't move it Barry!
Colt kept his pads on..........had no ice on the shoulder, no sling.........COME ON MAN. Standard treatment for paresthesia is not do nothing.
Colt pussed out on an opportunity to will his TEAM.
Tebow would have freaking taped his shoulder down and played with 1 arm in the MNC.

Colt could not lift his arm. Seems more necessity than integrety.
Why the hell does a school like UT (or anyone for that matter) not have a QB on the roster between a senior and true freshman? Granted even if they had a senior behind Colt he would not have any serious experience either but at least he would have been in the system.

Bud Kilmer would have shot him up and sent him in!

Yea but can you throw an accurate throw?

I disagree

Probably cause he won't play QB in the NFL

I'm not saying Colt had to play the whole game.......but his presence in the 1st quarter would have changed Bama's complexion not to mention he get the benefit of showing his team he is hear to fight with them. A few handoffs a speech to the team while getting the Freshman mentally ready would have gone a whole lot better than disappearing houdini style.

Chiles was the QB behind McCoy but they moved him to WR when he wasn't seeing any playing time. Not sure what year he is, but I think around Junior maybe? A Texas fan may be able to give a better answer.

I was wondering the same thing.

Nah cause he is a competitor with toughness.
Colt is a competitior but I question his toughness.

There was no decision on Mack's part. The kid could not feel his throwing arm at all. He could not play. Mack had nothing to do with it.

This is true. I was REALLY shocked they didn't put him in the shotgun and just try and run.

This is true but I still find it odd that from Colt's symptoms he didn't have any ice, a sling, and his pads on when you people describe his injury. None of you think its kinda ridiculous that he made that comment but never once took his pads off?

what is ice going to do? it was not a sore or bruised arm, it was a numb arm. like a stinger. ice doesn't help

yea, apparently now colt is trying to say he could have played but mack didn't wouldn't let him. I don't know i don't think he could play.

numbness is usually a result of swelling on a nerve so OK we can rule out ice.
Still should have been slinged and movement reduced to a minimum.

Dude I fricking do nerve blocks in my rotation right now.......STFU..........
I'm not being retarded by thinking as a medical provider if a patient told me he couldn't feel his arm then I would elevate the arm so as to increase venous return, reduce the paresthesia, and call it a day.
