interesting stuff, I don't think I'd ever heard Texas mentioned before, but then I hadn't paid too much attention to the whole thing. always figured it'd be ND, Pitt, or Syracuse.

Notre Dame is the only school that most Big Ten fans would accept.

I respectively disagree. I think at one time they did. But several rejections from ND, I think most are ready to move on to someone else now..like Missouri, Texas, Nebraska, etc.

it would hurt Tejas fans that dont want to travel accross the county for a road game... their following (on the road) will drastically decrease

and the Red River Rivalry will still have to be played so that would give Tejas an OOC team to play every year that will not help them one bit with a loss. its not the same as a confrence game because you still have to play schools like tOSU and well nevermind

i seriously doubt those numbers of TV revenue per school are correct. SERIOUSLY. DOUBT.

When I mentioned Texas as a possibility(and mentioned how UT fans seemed to like the idea on their message board) I was laughed at.

I like the idea of Texas. They're a perfect fit.

you'd think the texas state legislature may have something to do with keeping them out of he big10

I can't see how it works geographically at all. It would be like a 3 hour flight each way for them...I can't see how it wouldn't cost a fortune to ship their women's basketball team up here 15 times a year. Not to mention crap like a synchronized swimming team, pistol team, etc.
In football it's not as bad, but damn it'd be rough in every other sport.
They'd own the shite out of Big10 baseball

If the Big 10 wants a team that would make their conference much more attractive and dynamic, they should get Boisie, conditional of course upon removing that ridiculous blue turf!

Do you mean it would not hurt them with a loss?
BTW they are 4-1 last 5 v. OU.

frick adding Boise.
No doubt OSU would not want it's annual schedule that requires playing 2 serious opponents disrupted. We understand.
But from a national attention perspective, BSU would be a home run and would probably dominate the western division of the current Little 10+1.

Boise can play football...great...we need an all around athletic program to join. Not to mention academically, alumni base, TV market, etc. Boise brings nothing to the table.
