Brady left johnson with no underclassmen... This a complete rebuilding year

Another asinine comment posted on this board. Trent Johnson inherited a cupboard that most new coaches would love to inherit. He was left an SEC championship team that was HEALTHY. He inherited an incoming top 25 player in J'mison Morgan who promptly requested his release. He inherited 2009 commitments from top 50 player PG Tommy Mason Griffin and dual sport star Brandon Mitchell, both of whom decommitted.

Trent Johnson has done an excellent job as LSU coach in many ways. At this point in time his recruiting is suspect despite the stellar group signed for the coming year. These recruits are talented and show promise for the future. None of them appear to be a premier type player and history has shown LSU's most successful seasons occurred when there was a super player leading the way. Right now his recruiting looks like Vanderbilt south.

Brady has been gone almost two years, this is Trent Johnson's program not John Brady's. Now if you want to see an empty cupboard take a look at what was left to John Brady in 1997.

It must be stated tht at this same point in his tenure Brady had signed Stromile Swift, Jabari Smith, Jermaine Williams, Collis Temple III, Brad Bridgewater, Lamont Roland, Brian Beshara, Marquis Ledoux and Willie Anderson. Trent Johnson had signed Chris Bass, Eddie Ludwig and Aaron Dotson.

Time to end the snide and snarky Brady rhetoric. Get behind Trent Johnson and hope that he can at least match Brady's ten years then compare if you must

Just about anybody who knows anything about basketball knew that this would be a down year for LSU Bball. I am not impressed with this pass years class but if they can improve as much as Storm seems to have done then maybe if his next class has some game changers we can again compete for post season wins!

Good post. I wasn't a big Brady fan but I knew when Butch Pierre left LSU, we were in for some lean recruiting years. TJ coming from the NE doesn't help either. He has to establish himself and that will take some time. But no doubt about it, like Brady or not, him and Butch recruited some talent and we were at least competitive. This team is so easy to defend and we just don't have any scoring threat outside Bo and Taz. This year is going to be a rough ride.
