why does porter keep uping the ante to get him at memphis??

Isn't it possible that stud is a great coach, but suffered through attrition and green fullback and qb???

Didn't our line do well in 07?? Did it not improve as the year went on???

If it's true that porter went after stud HARD the second time, and tried to break the bank to get him for OC. Seems like someone that works with him everyday knows more about him then we do

And miles does not let him go. Because if he wasn't doing a good job on the offense he would be GONE WITH THE REST.

I think i will just sit back and watch. Why do i like this time of year so much

is this booster a raving lunatic like us? Half cocked without all the facts to make a informed decision?

I saw what you wrote. I agree a little, but.

If that was the case HE WOULD BE GONE. because if miles gave porter his blessing, obviously he does not want him here.

And, a OC position at memphis is = to or >>>>>>>> then oline coach at lsu.

ANd he went after him a SECOND time with more money.

Stud was an Off. Coor. at his prior coaching stop, so I would think he would be excited about returning to that position. Les has never stood in the way of one of his coaches getting a promotion, so I would think Stud is gone. He can be replaced, and I look forward to a great hire by Miles!

I still do not think he is as bad of a coach as people think. He got shafted this year, when our battering ram fullback left. Add the cuts and attrition (not to mention oline players kicked of the team). COmbine that with a green qb and it was not looking good. In 07 we had a GREAT oline. And the last couple games the oline looked much better.

the line has regressed each year under his watch. you can't disagree with that

No, it stayed bad the whole year.

the line has also progressed through the year, which imo is more important. talent can change year to year and it is quite obvious we have downgraded over the last few years.

I'm not really impressed with a line with three returning starters all playing like turnstiles. Stud isn't a good coach. I wish he would go to Memphis.

Probably the same reason that Northwestern was in love with Bradley Dale.

Howd that one go so far?

I guess the thought is that even poor coaches at places like LSU will be improvements over their normal pool.

So, your argument is that a guy who after 5 FULL seasons, has yet to figure out a way to eliminate delay of games/wasted time outs to avoid (it is NOT a new issue, has been going on since game one) and has not figured out a way to eliminate "thinking", fundamental penalties (like OL offsides or NOT LINING UP IN THE FREAKING RIGHT PLACE) can even tell the difference between a good OL coach and a bad one?

What body of evidence suggests that Porter knows how to hire quality assistants or is a good head coach?

Studs is horrible at technique and from anyone who has talked to a player from the OL the past 3 years, all have said he's a shite coach much like Earl Lane. If that's the case, prepare for some serious OL issues if he stays.

I think we already reached that point.
