Anyone else notice this opening in the old Shoney's? Looks like it will maybe be another sushi buffet.. Possible new sushi place.. Expansion of the sushi district is eminent.

Yes, that area is in desperate need of a chain buffet. Typical major interstate exit, could be in any city in the US, zero local interest, except for chain strokers.

Is it a buffet? There is already a Chinese Buffet place in the same lot.. Couldnt really tell if it were a Japanese Buffet like Nagoya or just another sushi place.

The Osaka restaurants in Covington aren't buffets. They are hibachi/sushi. Is this a different company?

It'll always be an old, beat up, smelly Shoney's to me.

You still might be able to smell the remnant of powdered eggs and latex style french toast sticks in the place.

I happened to pass by there today. It said it was a "Seafood and Sushi Buffet" on the sign.

$100 says that the owners have never been to Osaka, and aren't Japanese either. It's no wonder that Baton Rouge settles for sub par "Japanese" fare.
