under Tolbert’s tutelage, Cardinals rookie receiver Anquan Boldin earned Offensive Rookie of the Year honors in 2003 and was the only rookie to make the Pro Bowl…Tolbert guided Boldin to an NFL rookie reception mark with 101 catches for 1,377 yards.

He's coached more than half his 15 year career at the college level, most of that in a "Frank Wilson" type role as a lead recruiter. Has coached at ULM, ULL, Florida, Auburn, Ohio U. Plus, played for LSU and is from Houston area.

If this happens I'll go ahead and resume my plans to travel for the away games next year, also.

If he is hired, this will take a lot of heat off of Miles. A LOT.
Miles biggest problem is that he's a little too cocky or appears to be. He thought the NC runs would just come to him after 07. So, what did he do? Made bad hires to friends and others. If he makes some better hires by more disciplined coordinators, things will improve.
He should take notes from Saban. He may be a dick, but he's disciplined and if his players frick up, they know they're in the shitter.
Obviously Miles isn't this guy, and that's fine and dandy. he has a different coaching style. Not worse, just different.
But, he needs other people on his roster to do the dirty work and bring discipline to the program. Period.

. IDK what he would do in recruiting but I would assume McCarthy is better
Tolbert would be a huge upgrade over McCarthy in every area except knowledge of the Baton Rouge real estate rental market.
