Who wears #18 next year?

I'm sure most of you know that Matt Mauck started a tradition where once whoever wears the #18 jersey graduates, that player passes on #18 to someone that they deem worthy to wear that number. It has always been a hard-working, team leader type guy in the past. Mauck passed it on to Hester, then Hester passed it on to Richard Dickson. Who will Dickson pass #18 on to assuming that he can't give it to his little brother who will be a freshman on next year's squad?

I'll post this again with the hope that we can just end this shite:
A history lesson. BTW....I know the equipment guy at LSU.
1) Clarence LeBlanc (a black defensive player) wore it for 4 years.
2) Matt Mauck wore it for 4 years.
3) Jacob Hester wore it for four years only because his High School #13 was taken by Corey Webster and some guy named Steve Mares, who was a WR. Hester never asked Mauck, they never played together.
4) Dickson picked #82 because his High School #41 was taken by Chris Jackson, and David Jones graduated. I know this because I know him.
Here's where this myth begins. After the NC game, Dickson asks Stringfellow and Miles if he can switch to #18. He and Hester are close, and he wants to follow.
It has nothing to do with any sort of tradition, or a reflection of how hard someone is working. Hester and Dickson were friends, and they are both white. The rest is just a figment of LSU fans' imagination.

No denying that Mauck, Hester and Dickson have displayed the ultimate team concept and have been work horses while at LSU. Why not give number 18 to someone who fits the mold whether it is tradition or not? You can continue the trend.................

He won an LSU Intramural flag football championship as a QB after his playing days at LSU were finished.

its already been named: Rocky Duplessis unless Houston Bates actually makes it to LSU.

I like this idea. It's not an official tradition, but in the fanbase, the want for it to be a tradition is there (sorry, I just had to do it!).
Why not get a list of guys who want to wear it and have the team vote at the end of the spring or something like that? Kinda like honoring the blue collar guys on the squad.

I'd like it if the coaches made the decision. Leaving it to players could produce hard feelings, a cliquish atmosphere and team disunity.

please wake up..............
If not Dickson I would have said R.J. Jackson due to him fighting back from a list of injuries that most others would have quit.....I am good with Rocky D or Bates..........

I like this. He has put in his time and is a scrappy player. Plus it would finally give us the opportunity to give it to a black player to ensure it doesn't become a race thing.

Give it to Patrick Peterson, if he wants it.

Most traditions start by accident. I think the idea of giving #18 to a "blue collar" offensive player is a cool idea to continue. I'd give it to Allen, Peterson, or Stamp. Actually, Peterson's already #19, so its not a big move for him. And I already like how he plays.
Let's keep it with fullbacks/short yardage running backs and tight ends. Let them get some glory.
