I watched it recently and couldn't remember why I loved it so much when I was younger.
Its got some cheesy acting.

it has bad acting, but i still really enjoy it. pretty cool movie. that and brandon lee died in it.

It's cool and dark for a comic book movie. The acting isn't very good, but it's got some great action scenes and some cool stylized stuff. Just go in expecting a fun ride, and you should be ok.

That's a bit high.
It's a fun, dark movie though. I've always liked it. But it's not anything groundbreaking.
And like someone said, it's cool/eerie watching the shootout scene where Brandon Lee dies (not that they show his actual death, but just knowing that it happened).

I gave it an eight out of ten. It's a pretty good action flick. Good director(he also did Dark City), better cinematography than a lot of comic movies(Dariusz Wolski also did Romeo Is Bleeding & Dark City), lot of bands I liked on the soundtrack.
The only problem I had with it was The Crow as well as Interview With The Vampire both came out in 1994 and that's what started all this goth shite. Every freak kid at school thought he was a goth or a vamp that year.

it was a good movie. but just remember when it was made. it won't be up to todays standards. you will probably enjoy it though. just don't expect something amazing.

How so? The 90s is a better movie decade than the 00's. I'd put up movies from 1994 over anything that came out this year.

Maybe in terms of special effects and quality film stock but as for as cinematography that depends on the movie. There's plenty of movies out today with terrible cinematography and there were quite a few that were rather impressive in the 90s.

There's a lot of cheese acting out today. There's a lot of cheese acting in any decade it really just depends on the movie.
Anyway we agree The Crow, good but by no means anywhere close to great.

He actually died filming this scene
The Crow
Originally he was supposed to walk through the door and get shot. Obviously they changed the scene after he died. The used his stunt double and decided to throw a knife instead of shoot him.

Quite a shame. I think he could have been one of the best action movie stars ever. If you have never seen this other one... check it out...
I think it shows some real unique fighting and martial arts stuff.

One of my favorite movies.
The soundtrack is also what got me into STP, Rage Against the Machine, NIN, The Cure, etc (had already been into Metallica, Zeppelin, Nirvana).
I had never been exposed to stuff like My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, or Machines of Loving Grace, and this movie definitely planted the seed.

Yea its ok. Its worth watching, but more of an oh hey its on usa and i have nothing to do movie. The Brandon Lee aspect makes it alluring enough to watch. Half because he died in filming in it...and half because he's Bruce Lee's son (and Bruce Lee was the man).
