I consider myself a casual saints fan, more of an LSU fan, but I do love the saints. I was born/raised in BR and it's got alot to do with state pride. Unfortunatly, it seems many many saints fans are extremly trashy. LSU has it's fair share of trash fans, don't get me wrong, but it seems the saints have way more. I may be wrong. I lived in NO for 1 year (the NFC title game year) and this only affirmed this thought. Am I way off base? I'm sure I may get blasted for this (probably by the trash that I'm refering to). Could it be due to the fact that LSU is a school and many of it's fans went there or another college and many saints fans never went to college?

Well . . . tough call to make. The funniest thing I've heard all season was before the Jets game. We were walking up the Dome ramp with a few Jets fans to our left and some Saints fans were yelling at them over the edge. One of the Jets fans looked at the other and said "See? You don't have to go to Hoboken to have a good time" Hope you catch the reference but I laughed my arse off.

That said, I've seen my share in Tiger Stadium. I haven't been a little while and maybe it's changed with the ticket pricing, etc. But when I went regularly, there were some fans whose only exposure to anything beyond 11th grade in Carencro or Golden Meadow was Tiger Stadium. No offense.

You don't think that a lack of education often directly relates to someone being trashy more often than not?

I know what ya mean. The NY Giants fans and the Saints fans are basically the same trash. They are very interchangable.

Whooaa pal. The Saints may have some trashy drunk fans, but take a trip to Chicago, Philly, Pittsburgh and, yeah, New York. Same act, different accent. I love the Saints fans.

I think an education is often more indicative of someone who has more drive and sense of responsibility (although less so these days).

The "education" is merely incidental to the personality type already there.
