USA Today had the top coaches' salaries...it was a full page about a week or so ago...

The article broke up the payout into three segments...salary, other income and bonuses...

Miles, Saban, Meyer etc make about $4 mil salary, $4mil in other income and bonus potential of $700K a year.

I was shocked at the amount of money above and beyond the salary.

Am I misreading this or are you suggesting that Miles is actually pulling in 8M+ a year? If so, you are incorrect.

It's all way too much, especially in these times. The only thing about Saban and Meyer is that they at least are winning their respective divisions. Miles? Not so much.

I'm guessing other income = sponsorships.

I could see Les bringing in quite a bit off other those sponsorship, but I don't think 4 mill.

This is not true.

Base salaries are probably 500k or so. The real money is in "other income".

Bonuses are usually less than 10% of the above.

I saw the article and if I am correct it showed L.M. salary from LSU at near $300-350 thousand. Most of the other $4 Million is on TAF. And that was my argument and they are the ones that want to keep this man as head coach, because they think that they get screwed. That is why I asked how many members in TAF and why can't they just pay it out (make a deal with the man); thinking maybe there are 500 of these people and it would cost only $3000 each. The A.D. would have to come forth and talk sense with this "self agrandizing small group" of glaoting about big shots and what they have (need) to do? They are one of the primary problems with the idea of keeping L.M for one more year. I wish I had the whole answer, but I realize that none of them will come forward and answer this on here? Wasted words are those that are never said!

Whatever Miles' salary is, it's too much.

for LSU's portion it is, but for TAF and the elite that pay the other portion it goes to near the $4 Million a year mark. Sorry for the error. But if that number was 5000 people that came up with that money it would equal the $15 M. I realize LA is a poor state and the economy is in a funk. But the LSU Alumni and rabid fans can control this issue, if they really want? Hell 50,000 loyal fans can each spend only $300 once and it would be a done deal. What do I know, I'm just a peon, oh I mean jester... But then again, maybe the man can be bargained with? I doubt it, since he is so stubborn as a coach in his ideals. He is living in another world at LSU and if something isn't done, LSU will suffer for it in the long run. Just like I said, I'm just a peon, oh I mean jester.
