Why would Petrino go to LSU when he knows he can beat them without all the supposed top recruits?

Against the backdrop of whether it is best to keep Les or go in a different direction this question (What . . . most fear?) can really clarify things.

Although I'm pulling for Les to get it together, my guess is that most of the SEC's coaches/fans would hope Les stays. What would really cause them concern is if we hired (fill in the blank).

For example, when we hired Chavis I think the OC's throughout the league breathed a sigh of relief as in 'we dodged a bullet.'

I want us to have coaches that make the rest of the SEC tremble, not scoff.
