For all those calling for Miles' head...

Yes, I hate that stupiod loss.
Yes I hate going 7-8 in th elast 15 SEC games.
yes we should do better with the athletes we have.
But, four things make me want to give Miles some loyalty:
1) He genrally seems to be a good guy. makes bad calls in games sometimes, but ALWAYS owns up to it. Handled the Ryan Perriloux (and other discipline issues) appropriately Just a stand-up guy.
2) He does recruit well - top 5 classes almost every year he's been here. Even a poor on-the-field coach will succeed as long as that keeps up.
3) He has won a national championship. yes I know some will say he did it with Saban's players or he got lucky a few times that season. But, nonetheless, he has won it all - no many coaches can say that - period.
4) Finally, he showed loyalty to LSU. When he could have gone to (or at least talked to) Michigan, he stayed at LSU and won the championship. And he hadnled it with true class.
He's a good guy and in many ways a good coach. I say he desreves our backing for at least one more season. Maybe Croton has to go, but I will continue to support Miles.

Totally irrelevant.

Being a good guy can get left at the players/coaches entrance gate

So did Orgeron

So did Larry Coker

He stayed here because LSU outbid them

Good guys doesn't translate in to wins on the football field.

Handled the Ryan Perriloux
Should have never went after him. He knew of his off the field issues.
quote:
He does recruit well
Yes, he does, but he doesn't coach well.
quote:
He has won a national championshi
Yes, no doubt, but he did back his way into it. He can thank Pittsburgh beating W. Virginia, because he didn't have his team prepared to beat one dimensional Arkansas at home.

Finally, he showed loyalty to LSU
He is a "yes" man. It's part of the reason why he got the job. Well that, and he was initially offered just over $1 million dollars a year to be the coach of an LSU football team, loaded with talent.

I'll support LSU, but I don't support Coach Miles.

Didn't this week.

Zook.

Hallman and DiNardo showed loyalty to LSU. They would still be here if they could milk LSU.

Seriously. shite. Hire me then. I'll do it for 30K a year. We can use the rest of the money to hire good assistants. Every time we lose a game I'll say, "it's my fault, I know hardly anything about being a football coach." Then some of these idiots would probably love me too.

I'm just saying he deserves some loyalty. I'd say if he doesn't produce (maybe SEC Championship) next year, I'd have to agree he needs to be replaced.
But I'm willing to give the guy some loyalty for now...

Nice, if I made monumental mistakes like that at my place of employment I would be fired

I'm a good guy. Does that make me an amazing, or better yet, competent, head football coach?

So did Ron Zook.

3) He has won a national championship
Larry Coker has one as well. Keep in mind Les backed into his. All he had to do was beat unranked Arkansas at home. He didn't. Fortunately, the stars and planets aligned to let us in...

4) Finally, he showed loyalty to LSU
I'm loyal to LSU. A lot of people are. Again, back to #1, this has NOTHING to do with being a competent football coach.
The reason this program will continue to sink is not solely because of Miles - it's because of these soft, indifferent fans who want to keep Miles because's he's a "gentleman" and don't mind losing 3-4 games a year and being second tier to the likes of Alabama.

1) Shouldn't have gone after Perriloux? Are you kidding? every school in the country went after him. If college coaches shied away from kids with issues, half of the great players would've never gotten a chance.
2) So he backed into the championship - so what? He got there and won it. Doesn't matter how.
3) Somebody else said he didn't own up to it. I believ at the press conference he started out by saying: "It's MY fault. I AM responsible." That would be owning up to it, I think...

So true for the majority of the working class. It is all about money and the LSU nation will shrink, I gaurantee you that. The younger crowd will back away from the program. The recruiting will take bad hits because of the media over exposing things like that on National Television. Do the TAF and the A.D. really understand this?

People love to resort to the "I BET YOU'VE NEVER MADE A MISTAKE IN YOUR WHOLE LIFE" argument, lol...its like no, if I messed up like that I would be fired and looking for another job

Buda your a fricken idiot. That just shows you how much you know about the game of football if you think Les Miles is a good football coach. The stupid son of a buck looks absolutly lost on the sideline. Any time your football team is still making first game mistakes at the end of the year is a bad coached football team. His time is up as far as im concerned.

If Saban wouldn't have left, Perrilloux would have never been at LSU. We'd probably have Colt McCoy running our offense right now.
