Yes.

Not going for 2 after the game winning TD against Auburn in 2007. a 6 point lead is virtually the same as a 5 point lead at that point - a 7 point lead, however, would have virtually guaranteed overtime in the worst case scenario of them returning the kickoff for a TD.

auburn 07 had a lot of heads scratching but no one complained because we won. he thought we had more time
Terrible example. That was the right call then, and still is.

The Auburn game where Flynn threw the TD pass to Byrd with no time left. Miles thought there was more time on the clock; enough for another play if it was dropped.

There was enough time left for another play. This is clear by the fact there was a kickoff immediately after the conversion try.

Exactly. If Bryd drops the pass (by the way it wasn't an easy catch), we blow the game.

Miles owes Byrd 1 blow-job.
You actually have that backwards. If Byrd drops it, we have even more time. The reason the clock kept running was the wait for the TD call by the ref.

I can only think of Auburn 07. If there were others, they were insignificant.

I love how everyone has gone from saying the Auburn Byrd pass was a great call with plenty of time left to a terrible decision that would have lost us the game if it had not been caught... Wonderful.

Try almost every freakin game where he lets the last 30 or 45 seconds of a half or quarter run out. Never tries to get that extra score to cushion a lead or to cut a lead. Les is always happy to just waste time during a game over and over.

He has never been able to manage a game or even attempt to mange a game and he never will.

Auburn '07 as time expired.
Tennessee - tried to call timeout after interception.
Oregon State (i think) fake punt inside our 10 yard line.
Going for it 6 times on fourth down against FLA.
Bama this year - end of first half. Poor clock management.
Georgia - going for 2.

A lot of these "decisions" worked b/c our athletes "had a want to win " (see Hester vs. Fla). Miles has always been a bonehead. A good guy, but a nincompoop as a head coach
.

Let er rip

it happens more often than you might think.

yesterday in the detroit vs cleveland game for example. why would mangini call timeout when he did?

So then why are all of these national writers and talkers talking about the LSU-Ole Miss game today? Miles's failure at the end of this game was epic and on a different level than all of that other crap y'all are mentioning.
If any NFL coach were to make similar mistakes it would be the talk of the country for a week. Belicheck is still getting hounded, even though his was a calculated decision that just came up a bit short.

Exactly our athletes have always bailed him out. He is what he is great recruiter and guy but a no clue coach. I'd like more than any of you for LES to be something different but he's not. He is what he is and he won't change!!

who cares bottomline is you are what your record says you are and over the last two years (a significant amount of time) our record say we are a .500 (at best) in conference record team i.e. average to slightly below average.

Arizona State game in 2005. That one isn't on Les. Chris Jackson had the green light to call that pass whenever the gunner wasn't covered. Prude wasn't covered and Jackson called it on his own.

it's hard to remember exact points in time, because none have really cost us a game. But there have definitely been a few examples of him showing his arse

I rarely remember the ones when we end up winning. But that doesn't make them "good calls."

Mismanagement of the game? Thats damn easy, he has let Crowton run the offense down the last 3 years to become the worst in the SEC and country!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It has worked as well as letting the Hells Angels run the parol program!

Crowton has the offense declining every year since he has been here!!!!

I think its safe to say that leaving this decision up to a punter (when the ball in inside the 20) is bad game management - audible or not.
