Why LSU lost the game

1. We were ouplayed the entire game. Ole Miss ran up and down the field, but we stiffened up in the red zone and mostly held them to field goals. Our TD in the first half came on a blocked FG, a luck play.
2. In the second half, Ole Miss had a chance to ice the game, but couldn't. Again our D held tough and forced a field goal. So we had one drive left down eight points and scored quickly but from the 1.5 yard line, we could not run the ball into the end zone.
3. We got a miracle break on the onside kick as Dexter McClusted played ole, so we still had a chance, but did not deserve it.
4. Ole Miss was sending the house, so we called a WR screen. Two Ole Miss guys had a chance to tackle Lafell for a loss, but he kept going to the 30. Three words: Field Goal Range.
THIS IS WHERE LSU LOST THE GAME.
5. With 1st and 10 and about one minute left in the game, we called a pass - MISTAKE #1. Jefferson held the ball too long, and barely threw it away. I can understand the call with not wanting to settle for a field goal, but the reminder is the way the QB handled the play. He does not understand that a sack takes you out of field goal range.
AT THIS POINT THE COACHES ARE REMINDED TO RUN THE BALL UP THE MIDDLE TO PUSH THE PILE FORWARD. IF YOU GET 7 YARDS ON THIS SERIES, YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT A 40 YARD FIELD GOAL. REMEMBER YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN A GIFT ON THE ONSIDE KICK, DO NOT LOOK THE GIFT HORSE IN THE MOUTH.
With 2nd and 10 we called a pass and took a huge sack because the QB rolled too deep.
BAD PLAYCALL - MISTAKE #2, BUT YOU HAD TWO TIMEOUTS LEFT, SO TAKE ONE AND CALL A PLAY TO GET THE YARDS BACK.
With 3rd and 19 we called a RB screen and took a loss on that as well.
RB SCREEN, BAD CALL - MISTAKE #3, BECAUSE YOUR QB DOES NOT EXECUTE THAT PLAY WELL IN GAMES. YOU ARE NOW FORCED TO USE YOUR LAST TIMEOUT, BUT BECAUSE YOUR HEAD COACH IS AN IDIOT, YOU DO NOT GET THE TIME OUT CALLED UNTIL 15 SECONDS LATER - MISTAKE #4.
With 9 seconds on the clock, the play call is Hail Mary to the endzone. Win or lose the game on this play. Does everyone remember their assignments? Break. Execute the play, but the Qb =has to let the ball go early because of a good rush, ball is complete at the 6 yard line. What do we do now? FG, try another pass to the end zone. Nope, we run the clock play with no clock.
THERE WAS NO PLAN B - MISTAKE #5. SINCE WE ARE OUT OF TIMEOUTS, WE NEED TO HAVE A PLAN B HERE.
TO BE SURE, EVEN WITHOUT GIVING THE PLAYERS A PLAN B, THE PLAYERS COULD HAVE KNOWN WHAT TO DO HERE, BUT THEY DIDN'T.
THEY KEPT LOOKING TO THE SIDELINE, JUST LIKE THE COACHES TRAINED THEM TO DO.
1 second on the clock, clock play, because the signal caller said to do it.
THE QB SPIKED THE BALL BECAUSE SOMEONE ON THE COACHING STAFF TOLD HIM TO DO IT. THE BOTTOM LINE HERE IS THAT THE PLAYERS WILL ONLY BE AS GOOD AS THEY ARE COACHED. THERE IS TALENT ON THIS TEAM, BUT IT IS HELD BACK BY:
POOR CONDITIONING - THIS FALLS ON THE PLAYERS.
POOR BLOCKING - THIS FALLS ON THE PLAYERS AND THE COACHES.
LACK OF EXECUTION - THIS FALLS ON THE COACHES WITH HELP FROM THE PLAYERS.
LACK OF UNDERSTANDING THE GAME OF FOOTBALL - THIS FALLS ON THE COACHES AND TRICKLES DOWN TO THE PLAYERS.

Im sure the rant can sum up why we lost without all the key strokes you just did.

Seriously! Could you not find a hundred of the other posts and just linked to summarize your thoughts. I'm pretty sure everything you just wrote has been discussed...Ad nauseum.

So we had one drive left down eight points and scored quickly but from the 1.5 yard line, we could not run the ball into the end zone. In other words, OUR defense stiffened up.
3. We got a miracle break on the onside kick as Dexter McClusted played ole, so we still had a chance, but did not deserve it. Not only was it a miracle because Dexter had a brain fart, it's also a miracle because 4 tigers were WAAAYYY offsides on the kick.
4. Ole Miss was sending the house, so we called a WR screen. Two Ole Miss guys had a chance to tackle Lafell for a loss, but he kept going to the 30. Three words: Field Goal Range.

Read as: OM defense stepped up and took care of business. Then, LSU threw up a Hailmary, and simply, wanted the ball more than we did. Nice catch.

Well this is what I would have done: 1st down and 10 at the 31 yd with 2 TO left, I would have called run the ball up the middle, 2nd down repeat the play, call a TO, bring the field goal unit, and kick the fricking ball.
What's so hard about that?

Miles wanted to try that stupid bullshite that could have backfired last year at Auburn. What a dumbass.

Why don't you tuck your tail and go hide.....you dominated us all game and it still took luck and a complete numbskull on our sidelines for you to win....you should be almost as concerned as we are

But you gotta have confidence in your players to make the plays, otherwise you should not be coaching them.
