and some point in the not so distant future Cauble will regret his actions

You may be right but the guy is a journalist. He isn't supposed to be licking the boots of everyone and everything related to LSU. He is supposed to analyze and report. It would be shitty to reprimand a guy who was doing exactly what he gets paid to do.

there is a line between reporting and piling on a man when he is down. Cauble crossed it and while he feels heroic today it will not help his future in BR.

So we should censor all journalists unless they are kissing Miles/LSU's asses?

I just have to respectfully disagree. The boards were lit up after the post game press conference because Miles was saying he didnt know who called clock it. People were questioning this and i guess he ran with it. You may be right but I'll just have to disagree.

he got giddy as a schoolgirl and came on the website to build hype before his broadcast. I never said he would be reprimanded or should be censored, I just said he will regret what he did. Les Miles may well get fired over the next couple of years, but there will be many people at LSU who remain, and they will not do any favors for him.

Yeah, I imagine he's pretty much toast with the athletic dept. And if you're poison to the athletic program in a college town, you're not going to get very much access. He should have made triple sure that there was no other explanation. He didnt. C'est la vie.
