There's a place in NOLA selling them on Downman road and some places in the country already selling farm raised crawfish, so they are out there already

I actually had crawfish today at a place on Greenwell Springs Rd called Side of the Road Seafood. It was actually good although a bit small.

I think I saw a sign at Sammy's on Highland Friday advertising boiled crawfish.

actually, he's kinda right.
There is a "crawfish season" which typically starts around Feb-March.

true, that's when the season traditionally starts, but just like xmas, it starts earlier and earlier every year.

"Also remember that Louisiana Crawfish is a seasonal product, not a legal season, but one defined by Mother Nature. Crawfish generally become available as early as mid-November through as late as mid-August. A consistent supply can't be counted on until early March running through mid June. The height of the season is mid-March to mid-May."

We have a sack on order for Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. Pretty expensive though, $2.75 per pound.

been hearing alot of places have them now. really is an early season. the wet fall we have been having might make this a great year for crawfish.

I have been craving crawfish for a long time now. My poor boyfriend has had to hear my whine and complain. I was unaware some places had them already. You can bet my arse will be there tomorrow the moment i'm off of work.

How much a lb at Sammy's? I think I paid $3.99/lb at Side of the Road Market.

Had some at Sammys today they where pretty good.
It's going to be a consumers year for crawfish, I think you will see lower prices overall than the last few years.
