I want Crowton to return.

I would be really pissed if he's not brought back or chooses to leave.
Our struggles the past year has been done to starting two young quarterbacks with struggles on the offensive line.
You don't go from being the Wiz to an idiot in just two seasons.

Why not? he has done this on several occasions.

part of his job is to develop young QBs so they dont struggle so bad

I will give the Crowton haters this: He has regressed the last few years. However, I agree he needs another year. I think our OL will be better next year and Shep will be older and bigger and JJ is just getting better. No excuses next year though.

his history disagrees.
at the very least a qb coach needs to be brought in to clean these up the mechanics of our qbs because they're subpar at best

Sorry, but his resume strongly disagrees with you.

I agree. I think our fans are overreacting.
We have mediocre QBs. Indeed, Jefferson was pretty bad at the beginning of the season and was downright awful v. Florida. He bounced back nicely v. Auburn, and played so-so against Tulane and the first half of Bama. And then he got hurt. And Jarrett Lee came in and showed he's made no progress from last year.
Now, it's fair to say that Crowton's job is to develop QBs. But some QBs take a little time. And some just never get it. I think the latter is the case with Lee. I am hopeful that Jefferson is now starting to "get it" so he can have a great junior year in 2010.

that'd be fine.

Blame erratic QB play and OLine play all you want, but bottom line, Crowton (or someone's) playcalling has not helped this offense, no matter who is on the field.
When LSU has shown signs of being able to run the ball, they go away from it, and go to this "piss-ant" naked backfield with 5 WR's all bunched together. Let's take a step back and figure out how much more successful we might've been in a 2-TE setup and at least one strong RB in the backfield as a runner, blocker, and/or decoy on play-action passing. We have an ALL-SEC TE in Dickson, who has been more under-utilized than any player on the team. When you have Lafell, Tolliver, and a RS/TH slotback-type receivers to go to on the split-outs, you don't need any more wideouts - one or more will likely need to be double-teamed, which opens up opportunities for the running game and inside passing game to the TE's and RB's.
Crowton and Miles could solve this problem immediately by scrapping this "bust" of a hybrid spread offense. This offense is for "pussies" and/or teams that have talented, bruising QB's like a Tim Tebow who can handle the hits on a regular basis. Jefferson is decent with his feet, but he cannot deliver the ball with accuracy OR check down to multiple receivers like a Tebow, McCoy, or a Bradford. Absent that, these offenses usually don't work well versus quality SEC defenses. A little misdirection is fine, but I vote we go back to power football - Power I/Pro-set offenses or bust for me!

a playcall is only as good as the whether or not the team executes it. those same type of playcalls were executed just fine when matt flynn was the qb.

Crowton is responsible for the QBs and O-line and or designing an offense that hides this weakness. There is no excuse for being LAST in the SEC, absolutely none with our talent. Im not asking for top3 in offense...just not damn last. Explain how we should be last? Please?

playcalling and putting the wrong people on the field. Playcalling is definately on Crowton. I don't know if Miles or Crowton make the personel decisions, but having guys like Lafell and Shep and not getting them plenty of touches/game is down right RUH TARD ED

In a nutshell - Crowton is the one that keeps calling the "Lame Option" & "Hapless Hitch" plays. Same story, different school/team...

I'm one of those guys that travel to away games and make bowl preparations annually for the past 11 seasons. I'm going to Ole Miss this weekend.
I don't know if it's the shenanigans with the SEC officials, the fact that Miles makes 4 million and doesn't coordinate either side of the ball (our OC and DC make over a million together), or maybe I'm just getting old, but at this time I don't have any reservations for next season.
I definitely wanted to go to the N.Carolina game and either Auburn or Florida prior to this past weekend. I have to think my feelings at this time will pass eventually, but I am hoping to see a change in our offensive coordination, at the very least.

But who would we dismiss? Yano? JRob? Those to are integral members of a championship staff.
