Honest question about our offensive and defensive stats...

I am not someone who starts ridiculous threads often, but this popped into my mind today.
In comparison to previous seasons, it really seems like one reason our offensive numbers are so low is due to a much lower number of possessions in games. I wathced the Florda game and we had four possessions the whole first half, and 11 the whole game. In comparison, we had 17 last season. It really looks like our problem is the lack of chemistry in the QB game. Everything is at the line and this milks the clock so much. If you run an avrage of 60 plays a game, and use an extra five seconds each play to use this "look at the sideline" stuff we use, that's five minutes right there.
IDK if this makes much sense, but this skews the numbers and hurts us when we play anybody, except maybe UF or BAMA. We have the talent, but we limit our own touches with the ball by holding it so much. Thoughts?

I think we've used the "look at the sideline" stuff about 5 times the past four games. It really seems like we're seeing it MUCH less often than earlier in the year.

Get a new OC , OL and DL coaches and get the OC, OB coach to really work with that #14. I've heard he has a cannon and a brain. Put #10 at TB and WR plus return man. Move T-Bob to either TE, FB or LB, he is too small to be a center at this level.
Utilize the best players with special plays for them and get the Lineman in the GYM during the off season in a serious way. Hopefully, good OL and DL coaches can get the kinks worked out very quick?
And some damn emotion from the CEO of this team; come on L.M.?

The new clock rules have given everybody less possessions, so it shouldn't skew our stats very much relative to the competition.

1. our offense flat out sucked, that's why we didnt sustain drives against UF.
2. Even though our D didn't give up many points, we never forced UF to a 3 and out, and they almost always had a fairly long drive into our territory.
And that is why we had such a low number of possessions against Florida. That is the reason MUCH more than the checking to the sideline thing.

I think this is due to our defense play. We can't get teams off the field. If we went three and out a lot, then we should have more possessions, not less. Also have to factor in turnovers as well. If we sustained drives, we would work more clock and hence have less drives.
