DMH - Good, not Great

Year One - Piece of shite

GI Joe - Better than expected but I wasn't expecting much

Really? DMTH was one of my least favorite, as I felt no suspense, fear, etc. throughout the movie. Year One didn't make me so much as chuckle the entire time, and I chuckled once or twice during fricking Caddyshack 2. G.I. Joe was the least sucky of the three, for reasons already stated. I too wasn't expecting much. Though, I was kind of surprised that they had the balls to make Scarlet a snicker licker.

You should have read a little about what this movie was about before watching it. It was not intended to be a horror scare you type of film.

This opinion can be turned into fact. It is a fact this movie sucks.

I've said this before on here but it is not the moviegoers responsibility to read up on a film before seeing it. That is why they make previews. The previews led the audience member to believe that this movie was trying to be a scare your pants off movie when in fact that is not what they were going for at all. You cannot blame someone for expecting this movie to be scary and then be disappointed when it wasn't.

All the Drag Me To Hell bashing makes me sad. This was one of the funnest movie experiences I had at the theater this year. That is what it was supposed to be... fun.

I didn't know what Drag Me To Hell was about and still enjoyed it. I thought it was one of the better movies I have seen in the theaters recently.

It's pretty obvious that the OP was expecting it to be a scary movie. There lies the problem.

Not "scary" per se, but suspenseful or in any way entertaining. I just thought the whole thing was very bland and formulaic.

Just out of curiosity - what was it supposed to be?

DMtH was okay.

I'm gonna speculate that some of the people saying that it was great or constantly apologizing for it being 'misunderstood' are folks who loved Samm Raimi's earlier work and are reaching to draw comparison's between its quality, and say, Army of Darkness.

Decent, not great.

I laughed several times during Year One. But, I like Jack Black and the fat arse makes me laugh. The Cera kid was funny, too. I thought the Old Testament references were kind of funny. No? No one? I guess it doesn't take much for me.

DMtH is at home now, but I haven't watched it yet. I'm curious after reading this thread.

GI Joe is waiting in the cue.
