couple LAST things about the BAMA game,

1. It wasn't just one play, there were several controversial calls, but I do understand we still had our chances.

2. Yes, with our backup QB and RB it would've been very difficult to move down field, but your missing the point, we still deserve that chance for getting TWO feet in bounds on the INT.

3. I thought Jordan Jefferson played very nicely while he was in, and I feel if he wasn't injured in the 4th, the game has a very different outcome.

BummerScope, late in the 4th Qt. Julio scored with PP on the sidelines with cramps and the CB covering was held on the play and Julio looked like the best thing you delusional gumpers have seen since white bread. Sorry, but stats, score nothing indicates an arse whipping by your team to our team and that is the way the world turns Tuskerloserville "Pink Pachyderm Club" member ....

THIS in a BIG way! Maybe they should receive it back tenfold.

I said it before and will keep saying it. If the tables were turned in the SEC Championship Game will the Bama fans and team go on record as being OK with forfeiting one of their 4th quarter drives? When it is time for them to take over on downs just let Florida keep the ball where they have it for another set of downs. I don't think they would be willing to do that in a very close game. That Peterson pick was a big play at that point in the game. If the tables were turned and LSU was the benefactor of that horrible call (amoung a few others such as the block in the back on Julio's TD) I would feel shortchanged and cheated out of finding out what would have happened. I want to win on the field with every reviewed call made correctly. Anybody who is a competitor wants to win that way. That is why instant replay was instituted. If you want anything else than your not a true sportsman.

Scoop your team does not have a creditable win with the win against LSU or Tenn. Cody should have been flagged for taking his helment off while on the field. The interception was not the only bad call and LSU did not quit. Had the came been called correctly Bama loses by at least 10.

The primary arguement is Bama's D was dominating all game long and the comparison of total yards proves that we would have likely not scored. Sounds alot like another game in 2003 where one team's D dominated the other throughout the game. All it takes one play..........

LINK

The argument is bunk for many reasons.

On their third possession before the Interception, LSU scored in 6 plays coming from their 30 or 40.

Discounting the likelihood of a team's offense to score based only on two prior 3 and outs, in a hotly contested game, is idiotic.

Ignoring the impact of momentum and emotion at the college level with reasonably strong teams, as well as the impact of losing momentum and emotion, is foolish.

Ignoring the impact of an interception in a close game with 5 minutes left in the ball game is INSANE and/or Stupid.

It's not as if we're saying Tulane would have marched down the field and scored if the interception would have been called properly...

Bama's "what if" scenario also ignores the liklihood that their defense would have been negatively impacted by the INT, as well as our offense being fired up by it.

Lee completed 4 of 10 passes for 41 yards with an interception and two other near interceptions in a quarter and a half of play in the second half when Jefferson hurt his ankle in the third quarter. He struggled with clock management and with getting plays called before having to call a timeout.

LSU was given a chance to score with 10 minutes left in 4th quarter down by 6. LSU decided to throw the ball 3 consecutive times instead of running once. This gave bama the ball back and well we saw what happened.

I think LSU's play calling was enough to keep us from winning the game.

That was the intent of the post. Georgia's team dominated LSU statistically in 2003. However, it only takes one play (Mauck to Green) to make the difference. Who's to say there wouldn't have been a Lee to Tolliver moment if the interception would have stood?

georgia didn't dominate anything that game. the lsu defense tortured georgia quarterbacks the entire game. that's why stats are sometimes misleading. green was 20/46 passing that game, so the 316 yards passing don't mean as much, and 93 of those yards came on one screen pass with 2 minutes left

Get over it, pwned on the field and quit during the 4th quarter

Being ahead 3 of 4 quarters does not equal pwned.. You of all people should realize that a comeback is always possible.. given even ONE chance..
But then again you are an Alabama fan.. so logic may be useless against you..

It matters. I guess I'm not as smart as the future-aware-all-knowing Gumps, I have to see it play out 1st.

Agree. JL probably would not have been able to get us in to the endzone...But we deserved the chance

He got the chance after the field goal, 4 plays that ended with an interception.

Bama blew coverage twice. First one called back for illegal formation and Scott dropped the second one. What's to say the third wouldn't have been the charm.

The 2003 LSU/UGA and 2009 LSU/Bama situations are completely different.

While I think it was a crappy call, but ultimately not necessarily game changing, I can PROMISE that the Gumps would be whining and crying for the next forty years if the situation had been reversed.

$aban would have been pissing and moaning and throwing things on the sideline, and the Gumps would be referencing it everyday on Lamebaum.

Please. Lets don't be Gumps.
