Just heard from one of my son's friends who is at the Air Force Academy. Game Day will be there tommorrow for the Army/Air Force Game. He's gonna have a GEAUX TIGERS, BEAT BAMA! sign. Gotta love that!

Why? I think it's a pretty cool thing

quote:

From there it snowballed, as the flag that Pounds made was Fed-Ex-ed around the country for Gameday events. The banner didn't make it to every single broadcast in 2003, but by 2004, a cadre of volunteers was eager to drive hundreds of miles at their own expense to wave the flag in the background of every broadcast. It was all voluntary and all informal—a thankless duty, since the flag-wavers were never visible on camera. "When you consider the show is an hour and a half, with commercials, close-ups, and taped segments, the actual live time on the air with a crowd shot is actually only five minutes," says Pounds. "It's only then that you hoist the flag and you wave it like crazy."

Yes my son noticed the AF Academy church in the background last night. We were there in June. It is an awesome piece of architecture. Great campus too.

Did anyone see it yesterday that the headline on ESPN that Gameday was coming to Tuscaloosa? I'm pretty sure I saw that. Was this Air Force thing a last minute deal?

It was never going to Tuscaloosa, it was always going to be in Colorado Springs because of AF/Army and Veteran's Day weekend.

That must have been what I saw then. I thought it was going to Colorado Springs initially but then was confused when I saw Tuscaloosa yesterday.
