This doesn't require saints homers, so I put it here.

1. Is Reggie tradeable with his contract?

Is there a good chance he does get moved this offseason?

He really is an expendable player IMO. I say get some more good defensive players for him.

Is it not good business sense for both he and the Saints to realize this, discuss it now, so that he can play up his value?

He just seems like he's a little more physical tonight.

No, he's not.

He'll be able to be cut next year, though.

The Saints would be stupid to pay his contract next year. I am sure others owners know this.

Bronson, do you mean at the end of next year or in the post-season after this year?

I believe with the uncapped year they can cut him without penalty. SFP has mentioned this before.

Pretty sure he won't be traded but instead cut

7/29/2006: Signed a six-year, $52.5 million contract. The deal contains $26.31 million guaranteed, including a $12.5 million option bonus in the second year and $9.5 million in incentives. 2009: $2.585 million (+ $4 million roster bonus), 2010: $8 million, 2011: $11.8 million, 2012: Free Agent. Cap charges: $12 million (2009), $13.5 million (2010).

Bush wont make $8 million with the Saints next year, but in a uncapped year he will get a new deal with the Saints.

So if we cut him before the contract we have to pay him in full but get that salary cap money back?

exactly!! I personally think we have to make something out of him to have any real trade value. As of right now no trade because he isn't worth trading right now.

I think we ask him to restructure his contract at the end of the year. I hope they don't trade or cut him.

Or dance around trying to get a highlight reel run and take a 4-5 yard loss instead of putting his head down and settling for a 2-3 yard gain that the team needs.

Bottom line is that he was signed to the huge contract out of college because of his "potential" to take it to the house every time. Fact is, after 4 years in the league, his production compared to the other weapons on the field does not justify the large piece of the salary cap pie that he is getting. If anybody else on the team had the same numbers that he does, few people would have a problem understanding this.

Without a doubt the guy is talented. That does not mean that he deserves the lion's share of the salary allocated for the running game or the wide receivers. You can't honestly say that if you stripped the names off of the back of the jerseys and did not know who was on the field making the plays, that you would think-based on production alone- that he should be a top earner at either of those positions. The fact that he has 'BUSH' on the back of his jersey should not make a difference.
