Could Sid be effective on the college level.. The guy is a winner everywhere he goes, just wandering if you guys think Sid could get it done on the D-1 level. Starting as position coach first then working up the ranks

Dude will win a state title at Central, already has two at Redemptorist. Beat JT Curtis for one title, and Redemptorist and Central were in the toilet when he took over the programs

He's suppose to be one hell of a recruiter...

hahahahaha he won games at the lhsaa 3-A level. he has won a few games at the 5-A level.(against baton rouge teams). he would be in waaaaaay over his head. he puts men in motion and has them do back flips and he has his quarterback throw passes behind his back on two point conversions when his team is up by 35. that will not fly in D-1.

he is a good motivator and is good communicating with his players. However, he surrounds himself with excellent coaches and Sid is NOT that good of a football coach. He gets his players to play, but he is just an average X and O coach.
He is a great X and O basketball coach.
He would be a much better basketball coach than a football coach.
The high school level is where Sid will succeed the most.

Coach Sid
best high school coach in the state
Coach Sid is an awesome person too. when at RHS he didnt care if you played football or not he was always nice to you and willing to help you with any problem you have.
Coach Sid could win the national championship at Vandy if he wanted too.
Shout out to Redemptorist class of 2004!

This is about the extent of Les' knowledge of X's & O's.

Sid coached me at Catholic back in '86. He's a great guy and a wonderful human being. The kids love him too. Guys will break their back for him.
I'm not sure if he'd make it on the college level though. Not saying he wouldn't - he damn well may. But he seems very geared toward coaching HS. Plus he's moved around too much in the last 5 years - although a lot of that may have been for his kids (they have autism)

I think a place like Louisiana College or Nicholls could be a good proving ground. Gus Malzahn(was a high school coach about 3-4 years ago).
I think it depends on the environment and school!

I agree, if he is going to coach let him get a feel of the college game and then contend for a head coaching job
