...right?

wrong...but I don't blame the game on that call.

Lafell was clearly held in the end zone.

whether is was PI or not is irrelevant
the penalty was called, the yards were marked off, the first down was signaled, and the chains were moved
sorry, but at that point you cant change the call

It was defensive holding.

Right. It was a very well officated game. There were no BS calls at all. It was as close to perfection as any officating crew can get.

it was PI, but it shouldn't have come to that. JR had time to make a better throw and Early had his man beat.

if we're gonna go that route, our passing game could have/should have ripped them apart all game long

It's at least illegal touching or holding no matter if the ball got batted away or not.

Battle of semantics either way it was the wrong thing to pick up that flag. The fumble call on Hester in the redzone was the wrong call too even after the review.

At the very least, it was illegal contact beyond 5 yards from the line of scrimmage. The proper call should have been defensive holding, at least as regards the Early Doucet play late in the game.
Now, there was also interference on LaFell in the end zone that even Ray Charles could have seen near the end of the first half. Unless I am mistaken, pass interference in the end zone in college spots the ball at the 1 yard line, not just 10 or 15 yards and a first down. Not saying LSU would have scored, but the Tigers certainly would have had a better than average chance at it.
Of course, prior to that was the infamous incomplete pass call on the review of Hester's 4th down catch and fumble. The man took two steps before he was hit!!!!!! How in the hell could the review official call that an incomplete pass?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!? Again, even Ray Charles, alive or dead, could have made the correct call, and the officials in the booth did not.
Two other calls that had some impact on the game were the phantom holding call against our Canadian right guard (forgive me, I don't remember his name) that nullified a big gain by Dickson. At the time, the hand he would have held with was completely wrapped up because it was broken.
Finally there was the fumble after a big hit by Laron that had one of those whistle had already blown calls nullify it. If memory serves, that drive led to Auburn's TD.
Other than those meaningless calls, the game was well-officiated and enjoyed by all.
