Here's 10 off the top of my head that fit most of those categories:
Boiler Room
Glengarry Glen Ross
The Game (1997 film, I think there's an older movie with same name?)
Dead Poet's Society
Equilibrium
In the Name of the Father
The Insider
Primal Fear
Quiz Show
and finally, The Pianist. In came out in 2002, so it's not that old but is one of the best 3 movies I've ever seen. I'm always surprised it doesn't get the credit it deserves. It did win a ton of awards, but Chicago winning the Oscar for Best Picture that year was and still is one of their worst mistakes ever. Plus, I never seem to see it mentioned by others when talking about movies that stand out to them or lised on the numbers "favorite movies" threads on the board.

I was going to add this and 1 or 2 more foreign films in my other post, but I didn't know if the guy was someone who could handle subtitles. Plus, I didn't want him to watch it, then get grossed out and call me a freak for recommending it.

A great and underrated movie to watch is The Ghost and The Darkness. The beginning says it all --- even the most unbelievable events in the movie really happened. An amazing story.

Come and See (Klimov, 1985)
One of my favorites but make sure you aren't in a great mood before watching it because it will ruin your day.
