I thought this movie totally sucked, and others in the theater agreed. Yet I see on here that and online that many people are giving it mad props. I just don't get it.

No different than Blair Witch. Many people found it scary as hell and many thought it was a joke.

The things that scare us are subjective. Some fear the dark while others do not.

I once knew a 300lb defensive lineman that was scared to death of small dogs. I mean little tiny dogs.

I've heard enough negative publicity to not give a shite. And I don't want to be "blair witched" again. It's def not worth the hour plus drive I'd have to make to go see it.

Even though I thought the movie was above average, I agree. Not worth an hour plus long drive. And it is not like the Blair Witch movie. That movie sucked dick, this one is legitimately scary and has a WAY better script and actors.

The movie was great. It was made on a very small budget. (about $15,000). Its not "just another Blair Witch Project." It's well made, and definitely scary as hell. However, if you see it in a theatre with kids or people who aren't taking it seriously, the laughter and talking and such can really ruin the mood. The first time I saw it, it was at midnight and all adults were in the theatre. It was a quiet setting and everyone was buzzing about how scary it was afterwards. The second time was when they released more showtimes and the theatre was packed with teens who are "too cool to be scared." The mood was completely ruined, and I felt bad for the first-timers who missed out on one of the best scary movies of our time.

I'm glad I saw it the first weeked for that exact reason. It was sold out but you could hear a pin drop through most of the movie

I think I've now posted in every paranormal activity thread

I didn't think it was anything at all like The Blair Witch. Nonetheless, it still sucked. I was like, "Why doesn't this chick just buy some earplugs?"

So earplugs are going to help when she's being pulled out of the bed and possessed?

Why would we care who/if anyone agrees with you? Did you have that opinion before or after the others in the theater convinced you to feel that way?

It's all about the audience you see it with. We went at 10:30 at night so there were no teenagers allowed. There were laughter... but it was the nervous laughter right before you know something scary is about to happen. People were scared... I usually hate the typical hollywood horror movies because of their cheesiness, but this movie was great. One of the best built up atmoshperes I've seen from any movie.

I went last night w/ Aspy and my bf to see it and the theater definitely had the "interactive audience" thing going on. It didn't bother me specifically too much, but I'm a huge chicken and was scared before I walked in the door.

I admit that I sort of screamed once, and that was mostly due to the audience's reaction and the wine and sake bombs I had before going.

I don't even remember what part made me half-scream, but I was actually looking at the screen! For that part at least! I latched on to the gump when it happened
