Yes, for everyone at the game but JJ.

I think "open" is the key word here. JJ seems to not throw the ball unless our WRs are wide open or on a comeback route. It's been said over and over on here, but we haven't taken advantage of our height advantage w/ Tolliver,LaFell & Randel, yet.

Yes. I noticed the checkdowns open more often than not.

negative--I sit in the south endzone--a few open receivers here and there but black and barksdale was too busy getting beat like a $5 prostitute

Rushing lanes! You do understand the imact of a 12-14 yard dropback on OT's trying to block SEC DE's?

I do find the contrast of JL last year and JJ this year quite interesting.

So many questions because of it too.

The receivers are getting open. The problem is JJ(JL was doing it last year) is waiting until they are completely wide open to throw. He is not anticipating where they will become open. That is why he is holding the ball, he is having trouble throwing to a spot hoping the receiver will be there.

EXACTLY!!! if JJ refuses to take 2 steps forward after going thru his first, even second, checks then he MUST stop dropping back so far. LSU is suffering from the gap left open by not recruiting quality qb's on a consistent bases.

seems to be disagreement here. and your question is the most important one presented since the game. is JJ the biggest problem? is blocking the biggest problem? are our receivers the biggest problem? hopefully the coaching staff knows (and i think they do). i really hate to say this, but it is quite possible that we do not have a QB that can see the field very well. maybe that's why we keep recruiting them.

Its obvious either they have not practiced any timing routes or the QB is scared into total freeze up. Either way does not bode well.

This is exactly what I've noticed....He seems almost too scared of throwing an interception.

In this league, you are going to have to complete some passes against good coverage. With the talent and size we have at TE and WR, sometimes you just have to put the ball out there more and trust that they will get it. I agree that JJ is too hesitant, and I think that the coaches have contributed to this.

Bingo, imagine all the stuff JJ heard about last year's pick 6's. Imagine the coaches preaching about turn overs and NOT throwing interceptions.

JJ's List of Priorities From the Coaches:

1. Don't throw a pick 6.
2. Don't throw a pick.
3. Don't throw an ill-advised pass.
4. Be patient
5. Ball Control
6. Let the game come to you
7. Throw the ball to the open man

By the time his mind gets to step 7 he is scared into a sack.

I expected this to be the case for the first few games, but it's time to pull the reigns back. It has never been more apparent than it was this past Saturday. All this talk about who should be playing at QB is moot if none of them are allowed to play QB.

This is the kind of throws/catches we are lacking...

AND THE FANS. As "spoiled by success" fans, we failed to give JL credit for his accomplishments, and belabored criticism of his mistakes. Accepting his inexperience and the mistakes that come with it. The fans were expecting RP to lead us back to a NC, and would not accept less.

I agree. But that strategy only works if you have a dominant running game, so that the QB is not expected to carry the offense. With this type of "game management", I'm afraid that we will lose 2-3 more games this year.

Exactly, what's the point of size and speed if you don't use it.
