Tenn's Crompton: 11-19 93 yards 0 TDs 2 INTs
UK's Hartline: 13-28 85 yards 1 TDs 2 INTs

JJ: 11-17 96 yards 0 TDs 1 INTs

Yes, JJ does look incredibly uncomfortable and ineffective out there. I am in no way saying that he's doing a great job, but I am saying that no other SEC QB so far has played even a decent game against Florida's defense, especially the secondary. Sure, we have more talent than those teams, but 90% of the QBs in the country would struggle. Russell Shepard should DEFINITELY play more. Him sitting on the sidelines in a game where we generate 162 yards of offense is a fricking disgrace. However, throwing JL into the game doesn't give you a "change of pace" in the offense. It gives you another shaky passer who will more than likely be confined to the pocket until it collapses.

Keep JJ for now, play RS a lot more, break out JL if JJ starts sucking against teams not named UF and Alabama.

Those other qbs are awful. JJ was good in the first half, but he is terrible in the second half. Look at the games he has started, the second half is always far worse. I don't know why this is happening, I propose starting Jefferson and using Lee in the second half.

Not only are those not very good QB's, but how many times were they sacked? I have no clue, but this is the majority of JJ's problem. Not that he CANT pass the ball, but that he holds it way too long and can't make the defensive read fast enough. Yes, the playcalling is suspect, but we rarely actually get to see what the coach calls because JJ can't get the ball off.

Looks like it, as was JL last year. Doesn't look like we have a whole hell of a lot of options right now. I have no problem with JJ staying in over Lee, but Shep definitely needs some fricking snaps. The fact that he isn't "prepared" enough to throw a pass 10 months after he got on campus reflects poorly on our coaches.

Alex, I understand your point, but don't you think our offense should do better than Kentucky's?

Are we not an elite program that is oozing with talent?

Yes Chicken, but this is the best we can do with our current coaching staff. I find it hard to believe that both JL and JJ are this inept, inconsistent, and ineffective with all the talent on the team. Not much we can do with the coaches on this team.

Is Greg McElroy really that much better than Jordan Jefferson? Is Tate Forcier really that much better than Russell Shepard? I think not.

Are their coaches actually doing their job and utilizing/developing their talent? I think so.

But we are not an elite program that is oozing with talent at the QB position.

You just compared JJ to two of the worst QBs in the league. But you're right, his stat line against Florida matches up pretty evenly with theirs.

LSU's offense was 12th in the SEC (there are only 12 teams) prior to the Florida game.

Crowton Effect is full force now and it had little to do with Florida's very good defense.

cut the kid some slack. He was going up against the best defense in all of college football.

Only problem is, you'll be going up against the 2nd best D in all of CFB in Bama.

People are just down on LSU right now.
A win saturday night will fix all that.
You have to believe the team wont implode like last year.
Defense was lost and that effected the offense.

Yea, it could be really dangerous to start comparing JJ to other QBs performances against other SEC teams. Mallett, Garcia, and the awful Jonathan Crompton all had an absolute field day with Georgia's defense. Mallett had 5 TDs, and I think Crompton and Garcia had four each.

Yes, those are two of the worst quarterbacks in the SEC. I think JJ also fits that category. I have seen nothing to put him above them. Crompton was a 4-star elite 11 QB. Why would you assume that JJ was better?
