Explain to me why did we see Percy Harvin as a freshman when he played at Florida but Florida didn't see RS as a freshman when he played at LSU?

Oh yeah I guess we will save him for the SEC Championship game against Florida

Meyer also used Tebow in EVERY game when he was a true freshman. And this was when he already had a 4 year starter and all-conference player at the QB position. He still got Tebow in and he played a prominent role in all of the big games. Oh yeah and that was on a national title team.

contrary to popular belief Percy only touched it 6 to 8 times per game as a true freshman

Because both Harvin and Tebow were more physically ready than RS. I think RS should be playing more too, but he hasn't exactly been great when he has played.

I would LOVE for Shepard to get that many touches a game.

it's more than what RS has done but had we put him in the florida game he wouldn't have been able to do anything against that defense especially with our offensive line

As a true freshman, Percy had 41 carries and 34 receptions. Tebow threw 22 passes and had 89 carries. That's a lot of production from 2 true freshman.

Absolutely correct. If you believe some of these posters, Harvin was playing half the snaps his freshman year. Harvin wasn't much of a factor his 1st year playing at Florida.

855 yards of offense as a freshman. Only Chris Leak accounted for more yardage on that team. Yeah he wasn't much of a factor.

my point was most people think harvin was the main back...not really

I was talking yards from scrimmage. How many of those yards were on kick returns. Are you suggesting that Shepard return kicks? Personally I'm for that as far as punt returns go!

Oh, and you are also saying that Shepard should be catching passes too, right? To compare a guy who says he wants to play QB to a guy who returned kicks and was a RB and WR is quite a stretch. Talk about comparing apples and grapefruit.

Percy had 855 yards from receptions and carries. Those were his yards from scrimmage. I was simply using these figures in response to your claim that he wasn't a huge part of that 2006 title team as a freshman. He was their 2nd biggest contributor on offense as a freshman. Tebow had over 800 yards of offense as well as a true freshman. And that was with an established all-SEC player at QB in front of him.

Maybe it's because Florida didn't have Brandon lafell, Charles Scott, lowland Williams, Richard dickson, trindon holliday, and Terrence tolliver - there are lots of guys that can get in the game without fumbling who have earned their dues
