there are a lot of people who do not want to do a gold-out because we are stealing penn states "tradition" well it is not a tradiion at penn state, it is originaly started with the winnepeg jets hocket team in 1987, hten oklahoma state stoled the idea in 2003, then penn state stole it in 2004 against Purdue. i say we still it from them this year and make it a better traditoin here.

You had 14 words to concentrate on when you titled this thread. You fricked up about 25% of them.

I'll ignore WTF that was and still answer the question. These things tend to do well with teams that have one dominant color...like a Tennessee or Nebraska. Trouble sets in when you ask a team that has two dominant colors (like an LSU or Florida) to do it. Fans likely have gear in one or the other...maybe both...unlike at Teneesee or Nebraska when they usually only have the one option.

And everyone owns a damn white shirt...whereas not everyone owns a gold one.

FWIW, I wear gold to every game.

The problem with this is that 60% of LSU's merch is purple.

Agree w/ your post.

Truth is, the LSU "experience" is unique and ought to stay that way.

No need to copy anybody.

Reading what former players and coaches say about Tiger stadium it becomes obvious the atmosphere and noise is waaayyyy more important.

LSU did a whiteout game against vandy when dinardo was here. Home team has option to wear white at home if visiting team agrees vandy wouldn't.

I think you saying that Penn State isn't the first or last to try to get their fans to wear one color to a game.

You're right, see it done ALLL the time. Especially basketball games these days.

Let's please join in and be like everyone else.
