Did anyone see Herbstreit and Musberger on ESPN yesterday. Herbstreit submitted his top five teams and they were as follows:
1. Florida
2. Texas
3. Alabama
4. USC
5. Virginia Tech

He said that even with the win over Georgia, LSU has not been impressive.

Yep, that is gameday sign worth in itself. We beat Washington, and are undefeated, and USC hasn't beat anyone but a crappy OSU team.

Who cares. Keep winning and the rankings will take care of themselves.

I'm sure his argument for USC is that Barkley did not play against UW.

Which might actually make sense if USC wasn't at 4

Notice where USC is relegated. The big push upward. Typical ESPN.

I think USC is a better football team right now than LSU. Especially USC with Barkley at QB.

I cant disagree to harshly tbh. Herbie has developed some respect for us over the last 5 years or so, so Im willing to let the pretty boy talk his bullshite once and a while.

Like any good analyst, he will reassess his earlier assessment based on new data.

That's an easy one to snswer:

"not a legitimate win because Tebow wasn't playing or wasn't 100%"

We would probably have to beat Florida again in the SEC Championship with a healthy Tebow to gain any respect.

especially after Les Miles holds a press conference just prior to the SEC Championship game.

Horse shite is horse shite, no matter how many times you reassess.

I think there will be a degree of skepticism due to a lack of certainty about the degree to which Tebow was impacted by the concussion. Herbie will probably mention it (which he should in fairness) and the folks on here will start 15 threads about why ESPN hates LSU.

But I think he will also give us credit, particularly the offense. This will be ignored by the Rant which we view the aforementioned Tebow skepticism as a slight, which, when coupled with only moving to #3 in the rankings, will be a sure sign that the media hates LSU.
