I really don't understand the criticism of the coaching

I thought they were outstanding overall. Crowton's play calling looked worse than it really was due to the terrible offensive line play. And Chavis's defense was absolutely awesome. I also think Les deserves a LOT of credit for the overall attitude and preparedness of the team. They came out ready to play from the opening kickoff.

A lot of problems was poor execution. The game plan was there.

Aside from just before the half, it was best it's been in well over a season.

ABSOLUTELY.
But it doesn't matter, too many people want to find reasons to hate on Miles.

I never understand the constant complaints about play-calling either. 1/2 of TD thinks we should run triple reverse statue of liberty plays every down. (To take advantage of our talent)
I agree on the O Line. If they could just improve 5% I think we'd be very dangerous. When JJ had time today, he ripped their D apart.

The end of the second half would have CHANGE THE GAME DRAMATICALLY the rest of the way.
2 Examples.
1. The qb sneak on 4th down. That should have been Scott pounding the hell ouf that. He had been running well up to that point. Give him the ball.
2. You got two tall and talented receivers and you cant throw a jump pass to the endzone to them right before half?
Add another,
Where was Shep and KW for the most of the second half? Shep was shredding the Dawgs when he got in the game. The coaching staff seems to quit on plays or options that work consistently for things that dont at times. I dont get it.

quote:Some bad play calls in the Red Zone and VERY poor clock management at the end of the half left something to be desired. I'm amazed that you can't see that, you know football and you should be able to see it.

Didn't you know that over have the people on here have coached there kids to at least a second place rec league finish? That more than qualifies them to coach at LSU.

The thing I'd put on the coaches was the amount of times that we looked confused again...missing assignments, not lining up correctly, and poor clock management.

UGA still converted way too many 3rd and longs, and I don't understand why Peterson wasn't kept on Green every play in the 2nd half
Offensively, still saw limited Sheppard in the 2nd half, inexplicable
and the d'oh moment at the end of the half
better coaching? Sure. Good? No

I personally only had a problem with the Offensive play calling near the end of the half and beginning of the 3rd qtr. Other than that it's mostly mental (a lot of small) mistakes made by certain key players, but the players are young (ie: JJ 19 yrs old).
I think once JJ gets seasoned he'll be very good.

Please...KW was not winning this one for us. Some games aren't meant for some.

well the object of the game is to win---5-0---hmmmmi say they met the objective

Option play needs attention, not being executed, i dont think its JJ's specialty, i think u kick the field when it was 6-0, JJ trying to squeeze 1 between 2 defenders in endzone

I was extremely negative about the coaching the past 4 weeks but it's hard to be upset about anything when you win a game on the road against a top 15 team in a place where we haven't won for so long. The offense, namely the O Line is our major weakness and is holding back out offense but they found a way to win. A fitting end to the game will Scott running the ball to the endzone. Our defense looks very very good and I give
miles and his coaches tons of credit.

agreed, and the choice to shelter JJ and bring him along slowly is paying off, more of a long term coaching decision.

overall I felt we actually came to play for the first time all season. That's on Les
The redzone playcalling must improve as in throw the option away
