Lsu is close as team of decade, but gave it to USC, said they were on a bigger stage. Did not mention the gaytors.

Why's that a factor in the determination?

It really is a factor. It's a hollywood team. Even women who don't watch sports know about USC.
And that is the only reason why this team is in the discussion.

I think those three teams are close. But head to head I have to give it slightly to Florida:
1) They won as many MNC (2) and LSU's were a bit more controversial.
2) Florida has a better overall record I think
3) people will point to the Zook years, but they were never that bad (7-5; 8-4 years). LSU's 2000, 2002, and 2008 seasons were no better than the Zook years imo.
* It is easy to say USC, but if you weight 2000,2001 equally to the other years, they had non-winning seasons both times

Agreed. I give it to UF unless LSU miraculously wins a MNC this year.

Even if LSU wins the SEC over Florida this year, I may give the nod to LSU. It is pretty damn close.

Why is Cowterd loving up on the Tigers this year? Makes me very suspicious.

Until somebody in the SEC beats USC we are just gonna have to suck it up and say 'wait till next year'

LSU is ahead of UF in nearly every major category of significance and tied with them in the rest
except in head to head which florida leads by 1
albeit most of these stats are close enough to where they may sway in UF's favor if they have an NC type season
but until UF has that season..LSU is ahead of UF

I'm good with this. I could switch LSU and Gators and be happy too. But USC? Have they won a championship in the last decade?
Posted on 9/25/09 at 10:40 am to lsumatt
Overall records from 2000 to date:
USC 95-23
LSU 93-27
UF 90-29
USC 95-23
LSU 93-27
UF 90-29

Let the decade finish will ya.
The leader among UF, LSU and 'SC at the END of this season may be entitled to stake that claim, not before IMO. If Texas wins it all this year they could also enter the debate.
