Yes, hell of a running back in the early '70s. Caught a last second pass from Bert Jones to beat Ole Miss! I BELEIVE? he is a dentist living in the Hammond area!

The pass was caught prior to the end zone. He said he lost it in the sun, stuck his hand out, it hit his hand, and he quickly pulled it in.

If you beat him in golf regularly, you shoot in the mid 70's and carry a less than 6 hdcp.

We played in our club championship together and won some money on side bets. He withdrew for the match play finals after finishing first in the stroke play portion in the First Flight (6-10 hdcp).

He went to Washington for the game instead of defending his crown. A true Tiger.

He lost the ball in the lights, not the sun. It was a night game.

Thanks. I was four years old, and my memory has been slipping ever since forty.

He is still in great shape. He recently lost some weight, and didn't really need to. There's a family history of heart disease, so he's just doing his part to stay fit.

Funny you post this. I passed him on 190 last Saturday morning between Opelousas and BR. Saw this big SUV with a NFL Alumni sticker on the back window...thought "wonder who that is"...then I saw his ice chest mounted on the back with the name "Brad Davis". Brought back memories from listening to the radio broadcasts while growing up.

Here's to you, Mr. Davis.

That Ole Miss game was in my freshman year. Since that time, I have never left a game early!

A friend sometimes gives me his tickets and his seats are right behind Brad's.

Heard he was a badass who started fights, but couldn't. This seperates him from Art Cantrelle who started shite but COULD.

Good memories...my first real memories of LSU football were in '73 when he was our feature tailback.

Broke Cannon's rushing record if I recall only to have that smashed by Robiskie two years later.

Outrushed Heisman Winner Capeletti in that year's Orange Bowl.

One of the toughest players ever at LSU.

Remember him being the idol of my HS FB coach, who was fond of telling us at practice that "Brad Davis is so tough he bites nail heads off".
