Is Ciron Black taking the year off to rest up for the NFL?

He seems fat, lazy and disinterested. Numerous penalties for rookie mistakes, getting beat around the corner (or even through bull rush) by mediocre D ends, whiffing on every block for screen passes, walking to the line so slowly he is barely set before the ball is snapped on every single play etc etc.

I believe we can go ahead and diagnose him with Corey Webster's disease where you come back for your senior year and apparently think you are so awesome that you can just mail your senior year in and still be an All-American and 1st round pick.

Couldn't believe that when I saw it. Black getting run over by a ULL DE, only to eventually take JJ down in the process.

Now that was pathetic.

When his play improves our whole Olines will. Our O line will feed off of how he plays

Isn't that two home games in a row for him with at least one false start? Sorry, but that's inexcusable.

But it's just a reflection of the larger picture, which is that the offense, while talented and scoring at a good clip, is still completely out of sync/rhythm.

Yeah, I noticed that he was getting slower and less agile as far back ago as his sophomore year. I'm not sure how much it hurts a team to not look sharp, but still, LSU does not look sharp on offense--and by sharp, I mean moving with purpose and intensity all of the time, even breaking out of the huddle.

The offensive line has looked to be the weak part of the team so far and his play has surprised me. That ULL defensive end just whipped his arse on that play. That being said, he had some plays where he absolutely dominated the opposing lineman.

I think he should be ecstatic he didn't come out last year. He would have been cut already if he would have given this performance among professionals.

So who was it that made him look good the past two or three years? Herman? Quinn Johnson?

He may have been given good advice concerning the draft. There were plenty ahead of him on the board with his perceived ability, no telling where he actually stood.

Whomever is advising him now, needs to be fired. He's overweight, and I have to think this is by design. Now, he could be playing through an injury, and if that's the case, we all stand corrected. But, this is something that would never be disclosed.

QJ was a big part of our success last year in the running game, I don't think there's any doubt about that.

It's not a matter of other players making him look good or bad. He just isn't what we thought he'd be after that awesome freshman season he had. He's a damn good player, but my expectations for him were higher.

I did notice there was no pop in their step. I didn't notice much intensity.

Maybe confidence issues

They are all playing pretty bad, wouldn't mind seeing some mix up to get it going..LG and C are getting man handled every running play..seriously, I watched those two almost all night and T-Bob/Dy were getting thrown around..Hitt is holding way to much and Barksdale isn't playing to his potential but is probably playing the best on the line..Let's see some hungrier guys with a mean streak..Blackwell comes to mind...see how that works

I'm not sure I'd go as far as your characterization. However, does not appear to be playing up to his potential at all.

There's no way Will Blackwell and whoever else is any worse than our interior starting 3. But since we play this awesome try to keep the score close gameplan it looks like we will never get any chance to give any backups any PT.
