Purple and gold on campus

Saw a lot of it today. Currently sitting in my graduate school class at ULL. Three people in the front are proudly wearing purple and gold. One of them has the t-shirt on with the final score of every game LSU and ULL have played against each other. That 912-18 looms pretty large (shirt was made before the '06 game)
A few quotes from the school newspaper - all from the sports editor Chad Huval
- "There is nothing worse than an obnoxious LSU fan. Except for a traitorous UL student who cheers for the Tigers. Yeah nothing worse. Except for the guy decked out in purple and gold, doing keg stands to cheer on LSU every week. You know the one that dropped out of high school. It's hard to respect a football team who owns more fans per capita that don't have a high school degree."
- "Stop yelling in my face and go eat some nachos while you wait for the game to start. Then keep waiting to watch sportscenter so you are not completely lost at the water cooler when you go offshore next week"
- "I fail to see how residents of Walker, Denham Springs, and Livonia "have" to support LSU. These fans live 30+ miles away from the capital but have such little local pride that they must outsource their fanaticism to the Tigers. Similiar to how Louisiana legislation outsources the higher education budget to LSU's athletic program."
It's laughable. I never knew their one sided hatred ran this deep.

On a recent trip to the Mall in Lafayette I saw 8 LSU shirts/caps to one U la la. Must be painful.

I agree with that theory. Jealousy is a sad thing, Chad's a jealous bitter little ULL fan.
Might want to let him know he'll need to tell everyone on ULL's campus to buy an updated t-shirt after Saturday.

Seriously have you seen some of the people that live in Lafayette. He is making this seem like Lafayette is this city of education and enlightenment. The only people in Lafayette are the people that go to ULL come down off your high horse.

Dosent our Athletic Department make enough to where they get NO money from the state for athletics? Guess im wrong..im glad this Chad from the UL paper told me the right thing...
