You are usually on the revenue kick of the ESPN. Why wouldn't yo be saying that the game would be on because of the money that could be made? Too me the revenue for this game could be mind boggling.

Why don't we do a home and home with them......
I would have loved to see us play them in 2003, 2006 or 2007. In 2004, 2005 or 2008, not so much. Maybe 2005 in a bowl game, but not in the regular season.

OSU had the ball in our territory almost every time we punted it and they only scored 1 touch down that whole game. What more is there to say? I for one do not see Washington giving us fits i have no fear of this game we will roll them.

I would like to see a home and home with USC.
I bet many of their fans would agree that this argument needs to be settled on the field.
And they may recall that the last iteration, at least in BR, was a game for the ages according to the Tiger fans who witnessed it.
Why the hell not?

we do recall it. Towns and fans get excited when we come to town.
Unfortunately we remember the game at SC too.

Why does this need to be settled on the field? I couldn't care one bit for USC one way or the other, yet so many here seem to have USC envy for some reason.
The split title thing is stupid. A game any year other than that year would not settle anything about the 2003 title. Whichever team loses a matchup in the future will have fans who loudly (and correctly) claim that it doesn't settle the score from 2003, so why obsess with it?
Meanwhile, Les Miles has to compete for championships and I don't see how it benefits LSU to play USC during the regular season. It has no impact on the SEC chase, and without an SEC title, LSU won't compete for a national championship. And by the way, LSU will hurt its chances for a national championship even with an SEC title if it has OOC losses. Let the pollsters wonder what would happen in a hypothetical matchup...I don't care. I just want LSU in position to win the national title, and playing USC doesn't help that. I mean, if they beat USC during the regular season, that helps...but if they can beat USC during the regular season, they're probably good enough anyway to persuade voters without that matchup. Meanwhile, if they lose to USC in the regular season, then...
Just focus on winning the SEC West so LSU can go to Atlanta at the end of the year. If LSU can go to Atlanta consistently, they will win it at least some of the time. If they regularly compete for the SEC title for long enough, you'll get your USC game in a bowl and then the debate will endlessly continue, since as I noted previously, an LSU/USC matchp proves absolutely nothing about the past. They are both great traditional programs who would no doubt put on quite a show in a bowl game.
Just focus on winning the SEC West and forget about what's happening on the left coast. The rest will take care of itself.

Watching people fight this debate is like watching a fight over whether blondes or brunettes are prettier. In the end, they're both hotter than hell and I would take either one in a pinch.

seems I have seen a video on youtube where we played them and they won.

The game I think CFB wants to see this year is Fla vs USC. No disrespect to LSU or Tex, but USC matches up much better than any other team defensively. It would also be a great home and home series.

Why with the brutal schedule that we face every year would we want to play USC?
Because nothing tops a good OOC game.

Maybe by the end of the season, but as of now it doesn't appear they could score enough to keep up with UF.

I don't think we could really beat USC this year.
usc doesn't exactly look like world beaters.
the only team that has looked championship caliber is florida. and they have not played anybody yet.

I believe that is the reasoning behind the bowl season, no? That's the reason everyone schedules cupcakes...so they can "earn" the chance for one of those precious "good OOC" bowl matchups.

theres a reason for that--sec schedule is not an excuse. its a reality. It is a harder schedule. The whole point is to win a championship. If our schedule made it hard to get there yet we feel we always have the talent, then im sure wed have harder ooc opponents. Why try and make it harder when our schedule gets us right to the champioship game like clockwork, if we take care of business..
This is always looked at as seperate. ooc and in conference. But its on a whole. The schedule overall....does that take the team to its goal? Otherwise we could have oklahoma, usc, and texas as 3 ooc games, but why would we? Personally id love to see it, and there are exceptions to the rule but i would think this plays a big part. Our overall schedule is as impressive or more than almmost any other team.....every year

You make good points.
I was writing from my perspective, as a fan.
I would like the Tigers to play more top programs, either current or all time top programs -- 1 a season would be plenty.
The excitement generated by the OOC matchups is worthwhile and puts our name out there.
It may hurt our national championship hopes like VT 2002, or it may actually help, like VT 2007.
We know what the Tigers can do, as do other SEC fans.
Fans nationwide, particularly the west coast, not so much.
I say take on all comers. If you aspire to be thought of as an elite program on a national level, I think you have to do that.
But you can't really single out LSU among SEC teams for having a weak OOC schedule. It's the way things are done in the SEC for obvious (to us anyway) reasons.
I support the Tigers either way.
