And using the same old tired funding excuse to explain why the suck at everything. Get this straight ULL tards, the LSU athletic department is self sufficient.
As far as academic funding, the states higher Ed funding formula is based on factors that do not discriminate by location or name of the school. There isn't some LSU factor in the formula that allows it to get more funding. It is fairly complex but the biggest factor is enrollment. Get over this excuse. LSU will always be the flagship school in athletics and academics.

Also, there is only one LSU, we have no need to designate our city or official name. There are two UL's, hence the need to clarify.

I'm pretty sure LSU is a widely known acronym for Louisiana State University moreover than the REGIONALLY known acronym, Louisiana or UL(within a 25-30 mile radius of the U of L at L campus) for UL-L...

ETA: I was unaware colleges began and ended at athletics alone. It's a fricking shame so many of you are so close minded. You've got more money, big fricking deal. We do what we can. Just understand that the definition of "success" changes from major to mid-major university, and you may begin to understand us our situation a bit better.
