goes to show that the W-L column isn't that important. I don't know why people think that it is such a factor. sure, it might be a bit of a factor to a few recruits, but a lot go where they feel is the best fit for them.

Like Saban did, new coaches can badmouth their existing players to new recruits and tell them they need them to come in and play right away. After a couple of years, that story doesn't work any more.

This is complete BS. Have a string of loosing season and recruiting will definitely suffer.

Saban is as well but if both continue to recruit like they are then I don't think their teams will suck very much.

Exactly, give it time, we will be good before you know it. Enjoy it while you can. I don't care about the beatdowns now.

Fulmer put us in a bad spot and ran the program into the ground. It is only a matter of time. Sit back and watch.

Actually, these 17 year olds are enamored by the fact that Kiffin plays true freshman all over the field, but when you suck, the 18 year olds may be the best players on the team?

Actually the decommit came from florida state not florida. By the way Lame Kitten can get all the blue chippers he wants he still cant compete with Florida in the east and bamma which he plays every year in the west. We get him the next 2 years if hes there that long and well get our shot at the great one.

Logically , that needn't stop after a couple of years right?
I mean he can continue to tell each batch of new recruits the same thing. Why will it not work after the first few years?

Referring to the Vols recruiting.

100% agree, that are top notch and will get UT talent level up.

All I am saying is a prominent well known Head coach in a neighboring state told me in person while we enjoyed a round of Golf.

exact quote "I don't know if the NCAA has enough watch dogs to catch them" .

yes your staff can recruit... but don't be naive or a complete homer to think they aren't great in part because they are comfortable bending the rules.

There's gotta be something fishy going on here with the signings. The stunt pulled with J. Jackson, then Bryce Brown signing(this may be because no one else wanted to deal with him), then all the recruits this year. He may not even be able to coach on the college level and these kids are starting to line up. Playing time maybe>?

so LSU signing a top qb last year when they had Jefferson already with several years left...hmmm sounds fishy . Don't be rediculous man. Everyone knew Brown wasn't happy with Miami and was looking around, we put Chaney on him first and then sent in the better recruiters from our staff to seal the deal. We basically had Hardesty coming back and that's it. We had his backup quit in Spring, and Brown was obviously better than the 3rd string guy. He could come in and get meaningful carries right away, possibly start by mid year, and definitely be the 1st teamer next year since Hardesty is a senior. Same with the other big name recruits. The talent just wasn't there at TN, and these guys knew they could come in right away and contribute. Just took some good recruiters to sell that to them, since the previous regime was well known for not playing the young talent.

Why does everyone assume they have to be cheating or bending the rules to get these players? I am guessing they aren't bending the rules anymore than Meyer, Saban, Richt and Miles. Have you guys looked at the coaching staff?

Lane Kiffin: National Championships with USC. OC for a record setting offense(Til last year, Oklahoma). He played quarterback in college and has help coach and or recruit the likes of Carson Palmer, Matt Leinart, Mark Sanchez, Matt Cassell, John David Booty.

Eddie Gran: 13-0 with Auburn. RB coach for Deuce McCallister, Brandon Jacobs, Cadillac Williams, Ronnie Brown and Rudi Johnson.

Jim Chaney: Offensive coordinator with Purdue that recruited/coached Drew Brees and Kyle Orton. In six of Chaney's nine seasons, Purdues offense ranked 4th, 7th(x2), 8th, 13th and 16th in the country.

Ed Orgeron: National Championships with USC and Miami. Recruited the players that currently make up Ole Miss. Has produced tons of 1st round defensive linemen and tons of NFL defensive linemen in general.

Monte Kiffin: Super Bowl with Tampa Bay. It certainly wasn't Brad Johnson and Tampa Bay's offense winning that game. The defense shut down the likes of Rich Gannon, Jerry Rice, Tim Brown and Charlie Garner. The Raiders couldn't even run the ball and Tampa Bay forced 5 interceptions. Monte Kiffin's name sells itself in the recruiting game.

So, the fact that Janzen Jackson wanted to play with Monte and Bryce Brown wanted to play with Gran should come as no surprise. Also, someone said Tennessee stole a player from FSU? Brandon Warren transferred from FSU. Tennessee did still two players from Florida. Nu'keese Richardson and Marasalis Teague. Teague was originally going to play on defense but Tennessee was too thin at WR. So, Tennessee doesn't need to cheat to recruit these players. The coaching staffs history sells itself.
